GRANADA

GUADALAJARA

Ayamonte is a picturesque Spanish town in the southwest corner of Andalucía close to the Portuguese border. Ayamonte dates back to the 15 century with a strong historical and cultural heritage. The town has managed to retain its delightful character from the narrow cobbled streets lined with cafes, restaurants and boutiques, to the beautiful plazas and a stunning marina from which you can overlook the estuary towards Portugal, a wonderful place to watch the sunset. The beautiful long unspoilt golden sandy beach of Isla Canela which stretches for miles along the Atlantic coast is only a short car or bike ride away. Ayamonte is about one hour's drive from the beautiful city of Seville and forty minutes from Huelva . If you feel like a change of country the 10 minute ferry trip will take you across the river to the charming Portuguese town of Vila Real. The city view combines some of the most classic examples of modern architecture, with historic monuments to be found in every old quarter of the city. Taking a walk round the Ramblas, you will find a curious mixture of majestic buildings, shops, cafés and mime artists as well as street artists. A mixture so colourful and a constant movement of people from all over the world makes Barcelona one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan Mediterranean cities. Buenos Aires' physical structure is a mosaic as varied and diverse as its culture. The city is composed of many small places, intimate details, and tiny events and interactions, each with a slightly different shade, shape, and character. Glass-sheathed skyscrapers cast their slender shadows on 19th century Victorian houses; tango bars hazed with the piquant tang of cigar smoke face dusty, treasure-filled antique shops across the way. The elusive spirit of Argentina as a country is present everywhere in Buenos Aires. The national dance, the tango, is perhaps the best expression of that spirit: an elegant reserve and an exuberant passion. Canet is located in the Mediterranean cost, 40 km north from Barcelona. This small and quiet village with only 10.000 inhabitants and just a little tourist activity enjoys a special charm. Canet offers wonderful beaches and is the ideal place for a quiet vacation where even in the summer it is not so crowded. But in only 45 minutes by train you can be in the centre of Barcelona, which means you can both enjoy the best of the two different locations. Denia is located on the Costa Blanca at the foot of the mountain “Montgó”. For sun and sea lovers, Denia offers a variety of natural attractions: clear, turquoise waters, extensive sandy beaches, stone beaches, sea-bathed caves, and impressive cliffs. Denia and its port have a long and rich history. The city is formed by a fishing quarter, Baix la Mar, the historic centre, The Roques, the new part and the beach. The ancient city central area is well conserved where one can breathe a typical Mediterranean atmosphere: small houses with white façades, windows and balconies decorated with plants, narrow streets that rise to the castle, a medieval fortress of Arabian origin which dominates the city. The Alhambra and Generalife, bequeathed to the world by the Islamic domination in southern Spain, are among the most precious heritage of the world. Later the Renaissance left its marks with the Cathedral, the Capilla real, the Cartuja and numerous palaces and churches. The Albayzín is the oldest quarter of Granada. Narrow, cobblestone streets rise and fall, leading to small squares, to white houses with patios or gardens, to cisterns, to viewpoints of the Alhambra. The caves of Sacromonte are the heart of Flamenco. Granada is the cradle of one of the greatest universities of Spain, founded by Carlos V in 1526. Some 60,000 university students contribute to the vibrancy of the city, especially to its nightlife. The city of Guadalajara, with the warmth of its people, traditional hospitality, and true Mexican identity, make learning Spanish in Mexico an unforgettable cultural experience. The culture and architecture of Mexico abounds in this city that is over 460 years old. Innumerable colonial buildings, museums, theatres, churches, and parks all contribute to making the city truly rich in history and culture. The cathedral is the most prominent example of an innumerable amount of colonial architecture. It exemplifies the timelessness of the culture of colonial Mexico. Mariachi music originated right here in a little town very close to Guadalajara. Tequila, the world-famous Mexican beverage, originated and is produced throughout this region of the state of Jalisco. Guadalajara is also located within a few hours drive to the world famous Mexican beach resort of Puerto Vallarta.

MADRID

PRADO DEL REY

SALAMANCA

TENERIFE

With its never ending nightlife, and thousands of bars and night clubs, Madrid is said to be one of the most exciting cities in Europe. The city has a population of ca. 3.5 million and it is a destination for thousands of people from all over the globe. Madrid has an exceptionable collection of museums, theatres and cinemas. All this makes Madrid the perfect city to learn Spanish. The capital of the Costa del Sol is world-famous for its vibrant way of life and pleasant weather all round the year. Even in winter the temperature can reach more than 20 degrees centigrade. The exceptionally cosmopolitan air of the city, where Pablo Picasso was born, is the result of the mixture of its long history and modern life. Cinemas, theatres and innumerable bars and cafés create an atmosphere where one can never feel bored. O Grove is a typical fishing harbour located in the north cost of a nice and small peninsula attached to the mainland just through a narrow beach. O Grove is a paradise for those who love the sea. It’s not surprising that even in high season you can find a quiet place in one of the small beaches. If you prefer a lively atmosphere the Lanzada beach with its 3 km, is perfect for every kind of activity, from volleyball to windsurf. You can also rent a bicycle to explore the surroundings. Prado del Rey is a picturesque town which is part of the Route of the White Towns in Andalusia. Its favourable location between two natural parks, Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema and Parque Natural Los Alcornocales, offers a great variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, horse riding, canoeing, climbing and parachuting. With its 6,500 inhabitants, Prado del Rey is a lively town, especially during weekends and fairs, such as la Semana Santa, Romería de San Isidro in May, la Velada in July and la Feria in September. The weather of the Sierra de Cádiz offers you 300 days of sun a year. The city of Salamanca is situated in the west of Spain. It is famous for its vivid history and its rich diversity of monuments. Buildings of very different architectural styles have been preserved, built in the golden stone which gives the city its special brilliance. The quality, variety and quantity of these monuments, together with the city's contribution to culture, have caused it to be declared part of the historic and artistic heritage of the world. Salamanca is also known throughout the world for its highly esteemed University which dates from the 13th century. Its character as a university city, its numerous monuments, outstanding among which is the beautiful Plaza Mayor, and its lively atmosphere all combine to make Salamanca an ideal location to learn Spanish. The Canary Islands consist of seven islands of volcanic origin in the Atlantic Ocean, off the north western coast of Africa. Together, the islands form one of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities. Tenerife is the largest of the islands. It's famous as the “Island of Spring”, thanks to its year-round springtime temperatures; and as the home of “EI Teide”, Spain's largest mountain and the third-largest volcano in the world. Our school is located in Tenerife's second-largest city, San Cristobal de La Laguna. Known as "La Laguna". Numerous historical monuments, palaces, churches and traditional houses can be found. As the original capital of the Islands, the city holds great historical importance and is graced by a vast cultural heritage. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Centre in 1999. There are plenty of interesting places to visit in La Laguna, from beautiful natural parks to world-class museums.

Language courses Courses are orientated towards communication and action: the Spanish Courses main priority is effective communication and correct situational usage. Thanks to its careful programme which covers all the aspects of the language, a great number of different subjects are dealt with in an intensive manner and so maximum progress is guaranteed. In Denia and in O Grove, in summer, we also organise foreign language courses for Spanish students, creating ideal opportunities to exchange languages and make friends.

Characteristics of the course: • Spanish courses from 2 weeks onwards. • You can start every Monday if you have some knowledge of Spanish. If you are beginner you should check dates. • Courses take place from Monday to Friday. The only exceptions are national bank holidays, without lessons; on other bank holidays classes will be held or lost hours made up by extra tuition. The number of hours depends on the course that you choose. In all cases one hour means 45 academic minutes. • There are 3 to 8 students per group, so that each student has the opportunity to participate actively. Even if the minimum number of participants is not reached in a level, the class will take place, but the time of the class will be decreased. • Young Spanish teachers with both university qualifications and appropriate teaching experience. • In the Intensive course six different levels are offered. Sub-divisions can also be arranged. It is our aim that students choose the course that specifically meets their needs. • A test taken on the first Monday of the course, together with an informal conversation, will be used to assess your ability. Your own self-assessment on the registration form, together with the result of this test will help us to determine which level is the most suitable. It is usually possible to change levels during the course. • A certificate which confirms the type of course, duration, intensity and level will be awarded to those regularly attending the language course.

INTENSIVE COURSE 4 hours daily, Monday to Friday. Duration: from 2 weeks onwards. Start: every week, except for absolutely beginners. Levels: 6 levels. Group: 3 to 8 students per class. The most popular with our students. Although quite intensive, it still allows you to enjoy your free time.
