Mistake #1 Not tracking Instagram traffic to your website
Nowadays, everything is about the data measurement therefore,
“If you can’t measure it, you won’t be able to improve it” Lot’s of online stores and brands make this mistake in their instagram profile. They put a lot of effort in promoting their business and products but forget to track traffic from their efforts. Instagram is a mobile app and because of this, it’s hard to track traffic from it to your website even if you have Google Analytics installed.
The Solution Make sure to include a trackable URL in your Instagram bio by using this amazing tool called bitly.
This will allow you to track the amount of times people clicked on your website URL from Instagram Follow the steps below to learn how to use Bitly.

Mistake #2 Instagram profile is not credible (trustworthy) Let’s face it. If shoppers don’t feel safe, they won’t buy from you. Nowadays, there’s no excuse for any website for not putting any effort in being a little more credible especially on Instagram. The last thing a follower/shopper wants to worry about is whether or not you’re a legit business or a fake instagram account. Yet, it’s common to see retailers who forget to display key trust factors within their Instagram profile.
The Solution Here’s a list of things you should consider displaying in your Instagram bio
1. Professional profile image or logo 2. Contact Info (email or toll free number) 3. Your address or where you ship from 4. Valid link to your online store

Mistake #3 No response to Instagram comments left by followers Let me ask you this question: Do you like it when you call a friend or email them and they never get back to you? So why is it ok for online retailers to treat their Instagram followers this way? We spend a lot of time & money building our followers and we forget to put an extra effort in actually replying to them when they comment on our posts. The typical excuses I get from retailers are: ●
I don’t have time
●
It’s hard to manage & keep track of all the comments
Followers might ask questions about products, pricing, customer service or simply give their opinion about what you posted. Make them feel special by actually taking the time to respond.
The Solution You need to put an effort into finding the time to reply to comments. It simply shows that you value their input and care about what they have to say. You have 2 options: 1. Answer each comment using the Instagram app 2. Use iconosquare.com (paid version) to manage comments
