Innovation cannot always be ‘implemented’. We are interested in exploring what goes on in the local interactions between engaged stakeholders, sometimes leading to innovation and sometimes not. How can we understand what it takes to become a part of the mutual improvisations that is the process of innovation? How can we understand such processes of improvising in which what is not yet fully known becomes recognized as innovation among the involved? What is at stake for the involved? How can we work with the need for control, and the need to avoid the anxiety of not being in control? And how can we understand the role of managing or facilitating such processes of improved interaction?
