EVENT PROGRAMMING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR 40 hours/week $11.75/hour 30 Weeks The Museum of Jewish Montreal (MJM) – a not-for-profit organization that collects, maps, and shares the history and experiences of the Montreal Jewish community – is seeking a motivated event programming and development professional to assist with coordinating community events and securing funds for the Museum’s activities. The Museum has recently opened a new space in the Plateau Mont-Royal and we’re looking for a driven individual to help us develop the Museum’s programs and events, build a network of community groups interested in using the space and expand our fundraising efforts. Job Description: • Developing relationships with community partners who will host events in the Museum’s space • Coordinating the Museum’s programming schedule • Designing and implementing direct mailing campaigns to donors and supporters • Researching fundraising opportunities • Updating the Museum’s donor database • Writing grant proposals and sponsorship letters • Assisting with donor stewardship and special events as needed The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to learn quickly and multitask effectively while working independently. A humanities background and previous experience working in communications, development, or in other cultural organizations is preferred. Familiarity with Adobe CC software is also helpful. Written and oral proficiency in both English and French is required. Please note that this position is funded by Emploi Québec.
