ABSTRACT Classification of level student cognition is needed in education, among others, used to determine students' progress. Application of classification methods of cognition of students using educational games have not been widely implemented. In general, schools in determining the classification level of cognition is still processing the values using the average student, thus requiring iterative calculations if there is a new student. One alternative option is to implement the Learning Vector Quantization method (LVQ) and the utilization of computer games to make learning media based educational game that incorporates elements of pedagogic. System built products are expected to know the level of student cognition in understanding a mathematical concept that is based on the trigonometric ratio of student input after playing educational games. The method in this study using the Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) is used to classify the level of cognition of students in two classes namely upper class (KA), and lower classes (KB) by using five parameters include the number of correct answers (JB), the number of incorrect answers (JS), much delayed answer (TJ), the number of steps (JL), and time spent (WK). Learning Vector Quantization testing methods (LVQ) and the game is done in SMAN 1 Genteng Banyuwangi in grade X. The trial results in the form of data input to a system built to give the output of two-class classification is 35% above grade and 59% lower classes. Keyword
