IDG Communications is pleased to announce the launch of a new magazine in its stable of market-leading publications. In November 2003, IDG Communications will officially be launching the Australian version of GamePro Magazine. This is a very significant launch for the gaming industry and one that offers strong advantages to gamers across the country.
GamePro Overview GamePro is a multi-platform games magazine that is published globally by IDG Communications. It is a well established brand that is widely recognised in gaming communities around the globe. In the US alone, GamePro has a readership in excess of 3 million gamers each month, making it the world’s largest multi-platform games publication. Australian GamePro will be a multi-platform games magazine produced locally and sold nationally throughout Australia. Studies show that the brand name is already in the top tier among games magazine buyers because of the strength of the US edition. It will be strategically positioned to reach the largest market of games enthusiasts and male consumers. The launch issue of GamePro will have a print run in excess of 50,000 copies nationally and will be supported by a major marketing, advertising and point of sale campaign.
Target Readership Editorially, the publication will target gamers of all ages (predominantly males 14 to 35) and will run extensive coverage of gaming in all its forms -PlayStation 1, PlayStation®2, Xbox, Nintendo Game Cube, PC games, Game Boy Advance, Nokia N-Gage, Arcade games, Retro games and, of course, online gaming as well. GamePro readers will typically own at least one games console, with many owning two or more. The majority will be heavy Internet users and by nature tend to be very active games buyers. Australian GamePro will also address the needs of the social gamer through a number of mainstream entertainment columns.
LOADING... LOADING... Editorial Commitment Whilst leveraging previews and news from the strong international brand, Australian GamePro’s team of well known local gaming experts will produce a large amount of Australian content for the publication. GamePro will give coverage to a broad cross-section of games, software, hardware and peripherals as well as buying advice for gamers on the latest technology. Editorial will include: • Sneak Previews • Latest Reviews • Pro Strategy Guides • Codes and Cheats • Online gaming • Reader Forums • Test Centre reviews • Buying advice • DVD’s and music reviews … plus plenty of surprises to be revealed upon launch.
GamePro Online As well as launching with a regular print publication, GamePro will also include a comprehensive gaming Web site that will be tightly integrated with the print magazine. GamePro Online will include a range of forums, electronic news services, cheats/codes, downloads, strategy guides and much, much more.
