Mason Dixon Roddy Akers -Lead Vocals, Harmonica Phillip Humbert -Lead and Harmony Vocals, Bass Scott Bucholz -Drums Martin Carmack -Lead and Rhythm Guitar Brian Mehalso -Lead and Rhythm Guitar www.masondixonsc.com Established Country & Southern Rock Band Mason Dixon recently added guitarist Brian Mehalso, The result is a fine mix of their familiar old-school country and juke-joint revelry to some of the more soothing southern rock and country rock to be heard from these guys in the seven years that I’ve known them. The two-guitar team of Martin Carmack and Brian Mehalso is quite impressive, best I’ve heard yet on songs like the Allman Brothers’ “Melissa.” You get a good, energetic show by singer, songwriter and harmonica player Roddy Akers as well as smooth singing and harmonies by bassist Phillip Humbert, and creative drumming by Scott Bucholtz that makes sure you’re paying attention. This quintet can get an audience to boogie, laugh, or cry in their beer to some good ‘ol country pathos. When it comes to Country, Roddy Akers’ vision for Mason Dixon is as cornbread as they come. Glad to hear the new guitar team gelling so well. Keep it up, guys! See you at Smokey’s Place! Jimmy Polston, Publisher FREE digital edition at:
