ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION LIN Center for Community Development is a not-for-profit organization with the mission to help local people to meet local needs. On the one hand, LIN provides support to locally initiated not-for-profit organizations and groups that seek to improve access to opportunities for disadvantaged populations. Such support could include small grants, introductions to skilled volunteers, workshops, networking and information sharing. On the other, LIN provides advisory and support services to individual and corporate philanthropists that want to serve, or better serve, the communities where they live and/or work. About VietnamCauses VietnamCauses launched in October 2013 seeks to facilitate two-way information sharing among the philanthropic community and the local not-for-profit initiatives they support. This website aims to connect good people for good causes.
How does VietnamCauses work? NPOs register their profile pages on the site, and could frequently update the announcement including volunteer recruitments, upcoming event. Donors/ Volunteers can search for NPO by cause, location or name. Once directed to an NPO profile, they can view information about the organization, including its mission, core programs, recent achievements, current needs and contact information. They can support the organization, ask questions and submit or respond to comments.
Who are VietnamCauses target audience? ● Not-for-profit organizations: Local (Vietnamese), not-for-profit organizations with the purpose to improve the quality of life for all members of the community and/or to promote access to opportunities for one or more vulnerable groups. ● Volunteers: Both the skilled volunteer (professionals who want to use their skills and expertise) and tradition volunteers who want to look for the causes and/or NPOs to support ● Donors: Individual or organizational donors who want to support for a certain NPO RESPONSIBILITIES The volunteer(s) will have the following responsibilities: 1. Develop Marketing strategies to promote the website to target audience; 2. Use existing networks (social media: email, Facebook; mass media and networking events) to raise awareness about the website and identify potential NPOs; 3. Work with the LIN team to prepare Marketing and Communication materials, writing and proofreading copy; 4. Provide on-going support to the LIN team as they implement the Marketing campaigns
VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION In addition, all volunteers have administrative duties, required by LIN’s donors, including: 5. Maintain clear records/soft-copies of work outputs for LIN data-filing purposes. 6. Submit clear receipts on all work-related expenditures for reimbursement REQUIREMENTS 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
Currently employed, full-time or freelance; Minimum five (5) years of working experience in marketing or digital marketing and/or communication; Working knowledge of Web 2.0; SEO, Google Analytics Enthusiasm for helping others and community development – experience as a volunteer or donor to nonprofits would be an advantage; Ability to work independently and facilitate regular communication with the LIN team; Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and motivate staff and partners; Strong organization and planning skills; Ability to meet tight deadlines; Good Vietnamese & English communication skills (both written and oral)
