Program Invitation
Day 1 – What is AI?
In our three-day Mechatronik Summer School we invite you to discuss this technology with renowned experts in an international setting. Participants will learn how to program neuronal networks on their own, test particular application scenarios, see IBM’s Watson in action and learn about innovative solutions of successful start-up companies. Artificial Intelligence (AI) describes the ability of machines to imitate the human sense of perception, make strategic deductions and communicate accordingly. For this, AI uses a series of algorithms and techniques to copy administrative tasks and decision processes of human employees. Intelligent systems can recognize patterns in natural contexts and help to make continuous improvements in efficiency and quality when fulfilling regular tasks. Machine vision and image recognition are crucial aspects of work automation and preventive intervention scenarios in the future of smart manufacturing. Hence, machines can be taught how to identify certain phenomena by means of mathematical and statistical processes. The resulting algorithm can become gradually more precise when identifying a certain phenomenon. After 24 hours, the applied intelligent system mostly excels the error-free performance of the original process.
