MICHAEL GAUTHIER BIOGRAPHY Michael was born in the same city that made Rotary an international organization, Winnipeg Manitoba. Mike first joined Rotary in 1984 with the Bolton Club. He served in a number of positions on the executive and was club president in 1991 – 92. In 1993 Mike’s youngest son was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes resulting in Mike’s leaving Rotary to spend more time with his family, particularly to be with his son at youth and sporting events. During this time Mike became active in Scouting and as a board member of the Mansfield Ski Club. In 2004, with his son off to University, Mike rejoined Rotary at the Palgrave Club. In 2007 – 2008Mike served as District 7080 Conference Chairman as well as President of the Rotary Club of Palgrave. From 2008 to 2010 Mike has served as Assistant Governor for the seven clubs in the north eastern cluster of district 7080. In 2009 Mike was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow and in 2010 he became a member of the Paul Harris Society. Mike is also a Rotary Foundation Benefactor and he and his wife are members of the Rotary Foundation Bequest Society. Mike worked in the transportation and logistics industry for 30 years and ran his own entrepreneurial business for 5 years and now works as a Management Consultant to small and medium sized businesses. Mike and his wife of 30 years, Karen Peirce, a family doctor, have three grown children, live in Palgrave Ontario and have been host parents to 3 Rotary and 1 cultural exchange students. They are also hosting another Rotary Exchange student from Brazil this year.
