Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu Don Bosco Arts and Science College started in 2003 by the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Sacred Heart Province of Bangalore, under self financing scheme. The College is affiliated to Kannur University and approved by the Government of Kerala. Currently, the college offers 4 postgraduate degree programs (MSW, MCJ, MCom in Finance, MA in English) and 6 undergraduate programs (BA English With Journalism, B.Sc Maths With Computer Science, B.Com Computer Applications, B.Com Co-Operation, BBA And BCA) In addition , the Don Bosco College located at the same campus offers a three year postgraduate degree progrmme in computer applications (MCA), affiliated to Kannur University and approved by AICTE. The College campus is in a beautiful and natural setting at a verdant spot, free from all hassles of city life. The Social Work Department The Department of Social Work of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu, is the pioneering institute in Social Work in the entire Malabar region of Kerala. Established in 2003 and affiliated to Kannur University, the Department holds a vision that aims at the integral and holistic formation of the students. The students are motivated and moulded to take lead in creating a just, equitable and humane society where the dignity of human person is respected, unjust social structures are challenged and the poor and marginalized are specially taken care of. With this vision and in the light of the values that professional social work entails for integrated development of the nation at large, the Department is organizing a National Conference, which will add to the riches of social work knowledge.
The Theme of the Conference The conference dwells on a very significant and challenging theme – “Critical Reflections on Social Work Research Trends, Advances and Challenges”. The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for all scholars, researchers, academicians and practitioners in various fields of social work all over India to come together, refresh their thinking, reinvent their approaches, emanate and share the knowledge and upgrade their skills and techniques. The conference provides an opportunity for critically reflecting over the trends, advances and challenges of professional social work research in current Indian scenario. It intends to explore the current trends, advances and challenges in social work research today as well as understand the principles, process and the impact of it in designing the approaches and intervention strategies in Social Work in our Indian context. Broadly the theme of the conference covers:

Paper Presentations Theme based/ learned papers on Critical Reflections on Social Work Research Trends, Advances and Challenges in Indian scenario are invited from Academicians, Subject Specialists, Field Experts, Research Scholars and PG students in social sciences. Applicants are advised to submit abstract of 250 words via email attached as a word document [MS Word 97-2007] to:

Format for Paper Presentation Abstract should include the following details and sequence 1. Abstract of the paper should not exceed a Maximum of 250 Words (Excluding Foot Notes, Citations And Key Words) 2. Should be in MS Word [MS Word97- 2007 document]. 3. Title of the paper &Theme of the paper [ As specified in the broacher], Key Words used in the paper. 4. Font Size 13, Times New Roman font with double Space 5. Profile of the Authors (s) a. If co authors are there for the paper to be presented, it has to be mentioned in order of sequence b. Details of the presenting author have to be specifically mentioned.
Main Paper should include the following details 1. The main paper should not exceed a maximum of 4000 words. 2. The document should be in Ms Word [Ms Word97- 2007 document] format. 3. The paper should include The Title, Author (S) name; Authors profile, References in APA style, mailing address, contact number, e- mail ID. a. If co authors are there for the paper to be presented, it has to be mentioned in order of sequence 4. Font Size 13 for main text and 14 for titles, Times New Roman font with one and half space. 5. Selected paper presenters will be intimated. 6. The selected presenters should send their full length paper and PPT for presentation (in PPT 97-2007 format) late by 21st of October. 3

PLEASE NOTE 1. Only after the reception of the full paper and PPT for presentation, the abstracts will be included in the book of abstracts and PPT will be listed for presenting in the conference. 2. A maximum of 15 minutes only will be provided for an author (if co authors are presenting, altogether) for presenting a paper and 05 minutes for discussions. 3. The PPT for presentations should be arranged in accordance with the time availability.
