I. MEET YOUR COACH
The parent’s role is especially important for students who are under 18, students who are living with their parents, or students whose parents are contributing financially to their education. Parents can play a key role in supporting, encouraging, and keeping students accountable as they, along with the Coach, encourage the student to take ownership of their education. While parents are welcome to join Coaching Calls anytime they wish, there are a few key times when it can be especially helpful to participate; namely, the very first Coaching Call. Parents may also request to be copied on Coaching Call follow-up notes to stay in touch with what was covered, and parents may contact their student’s Coach at any time via email with questions or concerns.
Academic Life Coaches guide students through the program, connecting them with the resources they need to be successful in each step of the process. Students receive two one-on-one scheduled Coaching Calls per billing month. On the rare occasion that a student’s start date is after the 15th of the month, they will only receive one Coaching Call the first month, going to two monthly calls the second month. All components of the program, including Coaching Calls, are conducted in English.
Roles within the Coaching Relationship The majority of the coaching relationship centers around the Coaching Call; however, a student can contact their Coach between Coaching Calls via e-mail and can expect a response within two business days. The coaching relationship is collaborative, student-centric, and future-focused.
Adult students find it helpful to have a mentor or accountability partner to provide support, encouragement, and accountability. If desired, the student may give their mentor/accountability partner’s email address to their Coach so that they can be copied on all follow up emails from Coaching Calls to support the student in accomplishing goals.
The Coach role is to assist the student in setting and reaching their academic and life goals. Additionally, the Coach provides support, encouragement, accountability, perspective, and resources needed to accomplish those goals.
Missed or Rescheduled Calls
If a student misses a scheduled Coaching Call with their Coach, they may experience delays or forfeit their call for that Coaching Call period. Lumerit is not responsible for these delays or forfeited calls. If a call is missed, the student should contact their Coach immediately to reschedule.
It is the student’s primary role to set weekly action steps with his/her Coach and work to accomplish these goals. Students are expected to keep all Coaching Call appointments or give prior notice if they need to reschedule. Students are encouraged to contact their Coach between calls with questions, struggles, thoughts, successes, or just to touch base. NAVIGATE

Through Dashboard, students can update their contact information, view all Coaching Call notes, view upcoming coaching calls, and access the Navigate application. Students should be logged into Dashboard for every Coaching Call.
Navigate
The primary component of this program is access to the Lumerit life purpose discovery application, Navigate. Students will work with their parents and Coach to thoughtfully answer critical life questions which will help the student understand where they are going in life and who God has created them to be. Navigate is an online interactive application containing nine modules on topics like life purpose, personal commitment, interests, and future college decisions (like degree choice).

When a student starts the Prep program, they are assigned to a Student Success Team. This team’s sole purpose is to make sure the student has everything they need to be successful in the program. The Student Success Team is made up of a Success Coach and a team of Champions who specialize in various topics. All components of the program are conducted in English.
The Success Coach
If a student misses a scheduled Coaching Call with their Coach, they may experience delays or forfeit their call for that Coaching Call period. Lumerit is not responsible for these delays or forfeited calls. If a call is missed, the student should contact their Coach immediately to reschedule.
The Success Coach is available to assist the student in setting and reaching their academic goals. Additionally, the Success Coach provides accountability and resources needed to accomplish those goals. Coaching Calls work best when they are centered around one specific topic so they are typically scheduled in 15 minute segments. Students can schedule calls with their Success Coach as often as they would like. We encourage each student to schedule at least one call with their Success Coach each month.
Should the Lumerit staff be unable to make phone contact with a student for a full four consecutive weeks of their enrollment, that student is considered inactive and may be removed from the program. II. CONNECT WITH THE COMMUNITY Student Life
Lumerit students have many opportunities to interact with each other both online and face to face. Online outlets for community include the official student Facebook group, the CP Student YouTube channel, as well as Empower groups which allow students to connect via video chat. There are also opportunities for students to meet in person through local events, mission trips, and the annual national student gathering. Contact

Not all students will complete all modules as part of the Prep program. We do not encourage students to rush through modules or pressure students to get through as many as possible. Coaches will work with students one-on-one to set goals for module completion as it aligns with the student’s and parent’s goals.
Critical Reasoning
Each Prep student receives access to the Critical Reasoning app. This course has been proven to increase reasoning ability and standardized test scores on exams such as CLEP. The course focuses on four main types of reasoning: analogical, deductive, inductive, and abductive. This course should be handled much like physical fitness: consistent exercise over time builds better thinking skills. Students should not spend several hours a day working in this course. The Coach will help the student pace the course material.
Lumerit Apps
Upon enrollment, students will receive an email with their Dashboard student account login information. For the duration of their active enrollment, Dashboard is the technology hub for the student’s Lumerit experience. Students with previous college credit should speak with their Admissions Counselor to understand how their transfer credit will impact their experience in the Prep program and ensure that the credits they earn in the Prep program will not overlap with prior credits.
Study Skills Resources
Prep students who would like to improve their memory and reading skills have the option to complete a Study Skills module to supplement the other components of the Prep program. Interested students should discuss with their Coach whether this would be a good tool for them, and their Coach can help them incorporate the Study Skills curriculum into their study schedule.

Comparative Worldviews Course Overview
This course gives students the opportunity to work through a college-level online course while presenting unique and vital content about the concept and impact of worldview. Students will study some of the major worldviews of the day while learning how to test these views and make sense of the world around them from a Biblical perspective.

Students targeting certain institutions may have the opportunity to include local courses in their Degree Plan at the time of the Academic Consultation. The option of including local courses is only available for certain degrees and target institutions. This policy does not apply to students who have finished local courses prior to Unbound enrollment (transfer credit) or courses that a student will take onsite at their target institution.
The student’s Degree Plan is visible in the student’s Dashboard account at the time of their consultation and thereafter and is typically finalized within two weeks of the Academic Consultation Planning Call. However, if additional research is required, this time frame may be extended.
Transfer Credit
The Unbound program can be especially conducive for students with transfer credit, even students with extensive transfer credit. Students with previous college credit should speak with their Admissions Counselor to understand the available options that will best fit their situation before enrolling in Unbound.
Degree Plan Changes If, after the initial Academic Consultation Planning Call, the student decides to change their major, college, or if the student otherwise requests significant changes to their existing Degree Plan, an additional Academic Consultation will be scheduled and a $150 fee will apply.

These courses have been developed to address the specific challenges students face in their world today. Because Lumerit Education is classified as a business and not an educational institution, students will not receive a T-1098 form from Lumerit. Once students enroll in their target institution, their target institution will provide them with a T-1098 form each tax year that the student incurs educational expenses with that institution.
