The APT has been designed to remove condensate from steam heat exchangers and process plant under all operating conditions, and forms an integral part of the condensate removal process. It is available in two easy-to-specify options.

VALVES & ACTUATION

• Compact design which contains all the equipment needed to drain or remove condensate for all load conditions. Innovative patent applied for low profile mechanism. • Mechanisms operate with as little as 8" installation head from the base of the pump. • All stainless steel internals, with low profile robust stainless steel floats. • High capacity two stage trap module plus precision ball outlet check valve. The HC version has a separate outlet disc check valve. • Low resistance type inlet check valve • Positive snap action pump mechanism with replaceable valves and seats.

AUXILIARY ITEMS

• High integrity trapped cover gasket. • SG iron DIN EN JS 1025 (EN GJS 400-18LT) and ASTM A395 body and cover 3.1 certifiable. Designed in accordance with DIN and ASME standards. Optional - The body and cover are available with an electroless nickel plate (ENP) finish. • Available connections: APT10-4.5 and APT14 (not HC) Screwed BSP / NPT connections with 1/2" screwed BSP or NPT motive fluid connections. Typical Specification APT10-4.5 - The pump trap shall be a Spirax Sarco automatic pump trap type APT10-4.5 operated by steam to 65 psig. No electrical energy shall be required. Body construction from SG iron (EN JS 1025 or ASTM A395) with a swing type inlet check valve and ball type outlet check valve.The internal trap mechanism shall contain a stainless steel float connected to a single stage trap, while the pump mechanism shall be a stainless steel single tension spring snap-action device. The pump, trap, and check valve mechanisms shall be incorporated into the same body envelope with no external seals or glands and shall be capable of operating with a minimum of 8 inches installation head from the base of the unit.

APT14 and APT14HC-

The pump trap shall be a Spirax Sarco automatic pump trap type APT14 operated by steam to 200 psig. No electrical energy shall be required. Body construction from SG iron (EN JS 1025 or ASTM A395) with a swing type inlet check valve and outlet check valve. The internal trap mechanism shall contain dual stainless steel floats connected with a two stage trap, while the internal pump mechanism shall be a stainless steel single tension spring snap-action device. The pump and trap mechanisms shall be incorporated within the same body envelope with no external seals or glands and shall be capable of operating with a minimum of 8 inches installation head from the base of the unit.

PPF, PPF-TOP, PPF-200, PPF-HTF The PPF provides the proven operating performance of the PPC in a pump which is manufactured of an ASME code stamped fabricated body. For additional information, please see TIS 5.200. The PPF-TOP provides identical performance to the standard PPF except offers the inlet and outlet to be a single point of connection located on the top of the pump body. This unique design feature adds to the versatility of the PPF. For additional information, please see TIS 5.206. The PPF-200 is based on the original PPF design. Here the fabricated steel body is ASME 200 psi code stamped. Although the maximum operating pressure is still 125 psi, the 200 psi code stamped body provides a safeguard against upstream component failure which may cause a high pressure to reach the pump body. For additional information, please see TIS 5.207. The PPF-HTF pump has been specially designed for use on two phase heat transfer fluids in a closed loop system. The self contained pump uses the pressurized heat transfer fluid vapor to transport condensed HTF’s. The pump will have minor differences in appearance from the photo shown. PPF-HP

The 4" PPF-P is the largest of the nonelectric pumps. With operating pressures up to 150 psig, this model pump can handle capacities up to 48,100 lb/h. For additional information, please see TIS 5.220.

The PPF-HP pump opens the door for use of non-electric pump technology on applications with high motive force pressures. This pump will operate on motives up to 300 psig and against back pressures of 150 psig. The 300 psi ASME code stamped body makes the PPF-HP the pump of choice for demanding applications. Distribution Efficiency

The density of steam increases as the pressure rises. Because of this characteristic, more pounds of steam can be stored in a boiler operated at high pressure than one operated at low pressure. The same is true for the capacity of steam-carrying pipelines—the higher the pressure, the smaller the pipes need to be in order to carry the steam from the boiler to the point of use. In short, steam is generated at higher pressures because this will: • Increase the storage capacity of boilers • Reduce system start up time • Reduce valve, separator, strainer and trap sizes • Reduce distribution pipe sizes • Reduce the standing losses from the system • Reduce capital cost When the steam reaches the point of use, it is reduced in pressure so that production efficiency is optimized.

These regulators are the best choice where downstream pressure must be accurately controlled regardless of variations in upstream pressure and steam load condition. Spirax Sarco pilot operated pressure regulators are suitable for steam applications and offer a wide choice of control options. An important feature in the Spirax Sarco pilot operated range of pressure regulators is the ability to interchange or combine two or more pilots on the same regulator body. This unique feature permits, for example, remote on/off control together with pressure reduction. These variations are available factory fitted but can easily be added on site.

The 25MP direct operated pressure regulator is designed for accurate control of very light loads. The 25MP is available in the 1/2" size with screwed connections, and cast iron or steel body construction. Color coded interchangeable springs allow quick and easy changes of downstream pressure ranges. This durable, compact regulator offers a competitive solution to uncomplicated steam applications.

These simple, rugged pressure regulators are designed for applications where great accuracy is not essential and where loads are relatively light and constant. They are easy to fit, simple to maintain and are adjusted by hand. They are available in two ranges: BRV and SRV for use with steam, compressed air and other gases; and LRV for use with liquids. Bodies are of bronze, ductile iron and stainless steel with screwed connections. Operating pressure ranges are selected by changing color coded control springs (choice of three) to provide downstream pressures in the range 2-125 psi for steam and water. BRV Model Shown

The simple and accurate pressure controlling SRV461 (threaded)/ 463 (flanged) regulators with 316 Ti wetted parts ensure corrosion resistance against aggressive steam and process fluids.
