Overview of the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (BI Applications) Overview of the system architecture of the BI Applications and OBIEE Installing the software components of the BI Applications Familiarisation with the OBIEE metadata repository (RPD) supplied with the BI Applications Overview of the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) process Introduction to the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse (BAW) Administration, extension and support of the ETL and BAW using the Oracle Datawarehouse Administration Console (DAC) • Administration, extension and support of the ETL workflows and mappings using Informatica PowerCenter
Delegates will learn to: • Use the Oracle Datawarehouse Administration Console (DAC) and Informatica PowerCenter clients to schedule and monitor ETL executions • Use the same toolset to sympathetically extend the BI Applications following best practices
Prerequisites • Completion of the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) for Developers course is mandatory • Completion of the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) Reports and Dashboards course is desirable • Elements of this course are of a technical nature, so competence in writing SQL (preferably Oracle SQL) is highly desirable • Prior knowledge of dimensional modelling (e.g. star and snowflake schema) is desirable
