Patterson Imaging Hardware Requirements This guide details the critical points of installing the Patterson Imaging software, from specific technology requirements to explicit hardware recommendations. Please note Patterson does not recommend or support the use of 'dummy terminal' systems. Contact PTC Support for documentation on limitations. Configurations for Citrix, Terminal Services, Point-to-Point T1, Microsoft VPN, are maintained on a separate Hardware Document. Please refer to those hardware requirements. 64-bit operating systems are only supported on version 15.00 and higher. Please refer to the Eaglesoft Video Capture Requirements and Digital Integrations Requirements for limitations with 64-Bit operating systems.

-Only Supported if using PI V17 or higher utilizing the following tested Operating Systems: -Windows Server 2008 R1/R2, 2012 Standard R1/R2, 2012 Foundation R1/R2

-No version of Windows Home or Windows 8 Standard (including 8.1 With Bing) is supported for use with Patterson Imaging. -All versions of Windows Server OS’s specified above as part of the Hardware Requirements are only supported on a Dedicated Server. -Not recommended for workstation or single user mode installs -Recommended to perform weekly reboots of your physical dataserver to allow Windows updates to install and for the OS to be freshly loaded each week. - Server operating system only, not supported as workstation or single user mode. - Must be wired to the network, cannot use a wireless connection. - For networks of more than 10 computers Windows 2008 R2 Server is required

- Not supported on Patterson Imaging Version 13.10 or lower - Only supported on Patterson Imaging Version 14-16 or higher -Only supported on Patterson Imaging Version 15.00 and higher.

- Patterson Imaging for Canada – Short Date settings need to be set to DD/MM/YYYY -Only Supported with Patterson Imaging V17 and higher -If “Start Server at Boot” is selected during the Patterson Imaging V17 install, the server will not actually start -To get the server to start at boot, prior to the install of Patterson Imaging, go to Local Security Policy Local PoliciesSecurity OptionsUser Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval ModeChange from disabled to enabled -If this is left Disabled, then all programs that need to run as Admin in Approval mode will not run as needed -Are not supported with Patterson Imaging 14.00 or below. - Smartdoc will not work on a 64-Bit Operating System - Digital Products subject to change. Please reference FAQ - 12733 and the manufacturer’s website for compatibility lists. -X-Ray or IO Camera acquisition on tablets is not supported due to their lack of power and the instability of wireless image data transmission over a wireless network connection.

Notes Recommended for pans, full mouth x-rays, bitewings, and documents. Recommended for documents and bitewings only. Tested for use in Patterson Imaging scanning multipage documents. Note: The 7500 will also do double sided scanning in Eaglesoft with duplex setting enabled Special Note: The 7500 is designed for 3000 scanned pages per day (Duty Cycle)

Patterson Imaging computer requirements are determined excluding any peripheral hardware that may be added to machine (i.e. video cards, sound cards, digital imaging machines). When using non-supported hardware, please ensure that the minimum requirements of that device are met as well. All hardware purchased from Patterson Dental Supply, Inc. is fully compliant for use with Patterson Imaging.

Is required to be able to utilize SmartDocs within Patterson Imaging The use of a virtual machine to run any Patterson Companies software is not supported. Kinesis USB Foot Pedal: Patterson Item 07-2698827 Virtualized environments are neither a recommended nor supported working environment for any Patterson Companies software. Patterson Item 07-5695788, Topaz SignatureGem (T-L462). There are 2 variants, HSB and BSB. The HSB will be used for offices that do not use Terminal Services, the BSB is used for offices that use Terminal Services To be supported by a hardware provider. We recommend PattLock and DDS Rescue for online backup solutions. A high speed internet connection is required for use with Pattlock and DDS Rescue Pattlock also requires the use of a Patterson external hard drive for local backups McAfee Virus Scan is not compatible with Version 10.00 or higher AVG - Free Version is not recommended for use. Symantec Endpoint is recommended. We recommend disabling the Network Threat Protection with Symantec Endpoint. Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender are both supported antivirus programs. Generation 9 Patterson Hardware comes with Microsoft Security Essentials (Windows 7) and Windows Defender (Windows 8.1 and 10) and can be used in an office up to 10 computers per Microsoft Licensing. Windows Defender or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Consumer Version (Full Version) Recommend Hardware Firewall. We do not recommend 3rd Party Software (Symantec or other software’s) Patterson Imaging 16.0 and higher will require high speed internet access. While your software will still install and function normally, users without high speed internet will not have access to User's Guide, FAQ, Live Help, Remote Support, or any eServices offered by Patterson Imaging." Patterson Imaging Permissions Must have Administrator rights to use Patterson User must have Administrator Group membership on Imaging in a Workgroup local workstation on a Domain. Dedicated Server if network is made up of 6 or more computers connecting to Patterson Imaging Please consult your Patterson technology representative or the Patterson Technology Center if you have any questions or concerns prior to purchasing or installing hardware or software.
