It was noted that approaching the final hurdle, the winner ROO ROO (IRE), hung quickly left giving a bump to ROSSAMILAN (IRE), placed second, which in turn moved CUDDLES MCGRAW (IRE), placed third, slightly left off its intended line. However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that it did not involve a riding offence and that it had not improved the placing of ROO ROO (IRE). Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SHANKILL CASTLE, placed fourth, lost its right front shoe. Race 2 - 2:35pm. THE MACKIE'S CELEBRATE THE SUMMER HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 3)

It was noted that turning into the home straight, RAMONEX (GER), placed second, slipped causing COOKING FAT, placed fourth, and ANGUS MILAN (IRE), placed seventh, to be moved left off their intended lines. However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. Following the race, Brian Hughes reported that COOKING FAT, placed fourth, was hampered turning in to the home straight. Derek Fox reported that he pulled up REVOCATION, as he thought something was amiss after the gelding made 2 bad mistakes in the back straight. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. The Veterinary Officer further reported that MYSTIFIABLE, placed sixth, finished lame right fore.

Harry Reed, the rider of the winner INDIAN TEMPLE (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip after the final fence when clearly winning. Race 3 - 3:05pm. THE ENERGY CHECK UTILITY COMPARISON HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4)
