If you have not seen the video, please click here to watch. Rallies followed by informational picketing will be conducted in Memphis, Los Angeles and Anchorage on Tuesday, September 23rd. Please see the information below regarding specific times and location meeting points for each city. Now that the September bid period is open, we ask that you consider this important SPSC event date (Tuesday, September 23) when you bid. In the coming days, we will provide you with the ability to RSVP for any of these important upcoming SPSC events. Your presence at any of these SPSC events is essential to our desire for a successful conclusion to negotiations. Please click here to let us know if you plan to attend (if you have already submitted an RSVP, there is no need to complete it again)! * In consideration of travel to participate in SPC and unity events, please be reminded that under the current jumpseat policy you may only use Business status within 72 hours of a Vips calendar activity, while Staging status may be used to travel between your permanent address and your pilot base/domicile. Any other travel on company aircraft outside of those parameters should be in Personal status. Memphis: Pilots in the Memphis area will meet at 10 a.m. at the Germantown Center (1900 S. Germantown Rd.) followed by informational picketing in front of the AOC at 12:00 p.m. Los Angeles: Pilots in the Los Angeles area will meet at 10 a.m. at The Standard Hotel (550 South Flower St. and West 6th St.) followed by informational picketing at Maguire Gardens (South Flower St. and West 5th St.) at 11 a.m. local time. COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN OPENINGS: First Officer Gordon Oliver, FOQA Committee Chairman, has decided to step away from the position as chairman of the FOQA Committee. Gordon has done outstanding work on behalf of the FDX pilots in helping shepherd this fledgling effort along. His efforts on behalf of all pilots at FDX is greatly appreciated. In accordance with the FDX MEC Policy Manual, FDX ALPA is now accepting resumes for the position of FOQA Committee Chairman. Suitable candidates should possess a working knowledge of FOQA operations and be able to work with statistical data gathering and interpreting processes. Captain Steve Eckert, Professional Standards Committee Chairman, has decided to step down from the position as chairman of the ProStans Committee. Steve has been involved in this very important pilot conflict resolution committee for many years. His work in this area has aided many pilots and assisted those pilots in resolving issues at the lowest level. In accordance with the FDX MEC Policy Manual, FDX ALPA is now accepting resumes for the position of Professional Standards Committee Chairman. Suitable candidates should have an aptitude for working with other pilots in conflict resolutions. This position carries with it an overriding factor of confidentiality due to the nature of the work performed with individuals. UPCOMING RETIREMENT COUNSELING SEMINARS: The next available Retirement Counseling Seminars will be held on September 10 and September 17, 2014 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Central Time at the FDX MEC Office, 1770 Kirby Parkway, Suite 300, Memphis, TN 38138. For pilots who are unable to attend in person, we will provide access to the seminar via teleconference. In order to streamline the seminars and to ensure the highest level of counseling, we are limiting each seminar to 25 pilots. Spouses are welcome to attend. FEDEX PILOTS' CHARITABLE FUND: The FedEx Pilots’ Charitable Fund, Inc. (FPCF) is a not for profit corporation, created under the Tennessee Nonprofit Corporation Act in order to provide assistance and relief to youth in communities where FedEx pilots work in the United States. FPCF became an IRS recognized 501(C)(3) on June 30, 2014. To read more about this fund and how you can contribute, please click here.
