Gingerbread Homes for the Arts 2016 Contest Rules & Procedures The following rules and procedures have been established by the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Culinary and Contest Committee. [email protected] or visit TheSKyPAC.com. *All entries must be per-registered by Tuesday, November 1, 2016. (A confirmation and entry number will be assigned.) *Entries will be limited to delivery on Wednesday, November 16th between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
ENTRY CATEGORIES: Due to the limited space, entries will be accepted in order of receipt. There are three entry categories:
Professional Category: Open to anyone who currently or previously has received payment for their cake/pastry skills or is a trained professional. Professional category is also open to artists and non-bakers. Amateur Category: Open to school groups, churches, organizations, businesses, individuals, families, or groups of friends. Youth Category: Open to individuals or teams ages 12 and under. Adults may only supervise and cannot contribute to building or designing the gingerbread house.
LIVE AUCTION /SILENT AUCTION th We are encouraging all entries to donate their creations for the auctions on Friday, November 18 during the “SPICE UP THE NIGHT” fundraiser. Auction receipts will benefit SKyPAC’s art education outreach programs. (See delivery form.) th
All Gingerbread Homes are to be on exhibit until Saturday, November 26 to qualify for the People’s Choice Award. All winners th will be on display in the SKyPAC Main Gallery– pick up Monday, November 28 – between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. A “People’s Choice Award” will be presented to the Gingerbread Home that has the most votes. Tickets will be sold for $1.00 throughout the event for visitors to vote for their favorite Gingerbread Home. Guidelines Entries must be originals and cannot be made from a kit. The Gingerbread Homes will be exhibited on 6ft tables. Entries must be on a covered, sturdy square, or rectangle base. (No cardboard bases will be accepted.) Maximum size of base cannot exceed 12” x 24” total. There are no height restrictions. Structure must primarily be made out of Gingerbread. Premade gingerbread is acceptable. (Houses built from kits are unacceptable.) All visible parts must be edible, with the exception of the base and battery operated lighting. The theme is “Holiday” – Use your creativity! Designs may be any structure: houses, businesses, public buildings, churches, etc. Designs (or entries) will be viewed from all directions. Candies must be unwrapped. The Gingerbread Homes for the Arts Contest Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate. Judging and Awards
Judging will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2016. (Time to be determined )

Gingerbread Homes for the Arts 2016 Delivery & Donation Agreement Thank you for participating in SKyPAC’s Gingerbread Homes for the Arts event. We are looking forward to seeing some special culinary and artistic houses The delivery schedule for your Gingerbread Home is anytime between 9:00 am- 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Gingerbread Homes will be on exhibit in the Main Gallery for the public to enjoy from Thursday, November 17 – Saturday, November 26, 2016. Please indicate below if you agree to donate your Gingerbread Home entry for the Live and Silent Auctions that will take place on the evening of Friday, November 18th during the “Spice Up the Night” fundraiser.
