Program Coordinator – Middle & High School Junior Achievement of Central Illinois, East Peoria, IL Hourly wage, part time, approximately 25 hours per week, August - May About the Position: This Program Coordinator position will support the Junior Achievement of Central Illinois program team with Junior Achievement middle and high school traditional and blended program implementation primarily within Peoria, Tazewell, & Woodford Counties. This includes but is not limited to teacher/volunteer renewal/recruitment, training, correspondence, monitoring, evaluation, and stewardship. The Program Coordinator communicates with volunteers and teachers via email and telephone, provides new teacher/volunteer training, solves problems and provides customer service, orders and tracks program materials, enters data and prepares reports, distributes and collects student pre-/post-surveys, and assists with coordinating student-centric events such as JA Job Shadow Days and the Annual JA Titan Business Strategy Competition. About the Organization: The mission of Junior Achievement is to empower young people to own their economic success through financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship education. Junior Achievement of Central Illinois currently serves five counties with the opportunity for growth into several more. During the 2016-2017 school year, Junior Achievement of Central Illinois impacted 14,950 students in kindergarten through high school, thanks to the efforts of nearly 600 business/community volunteers. Effective Communicator and Customer Focused: In order to best serve our volunteers and teachers, and ultimately the young people we impact, this person will need to demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills and have a customer focused approach to problem solving Quick and Energetic: We are looking for someone committed to deadlines with the energy and urgency required to jump from task to task with ease Sharp Problem-Solver: Working with teachers and volunteers sometimes means less black and white and more curveballs. Minimum Requirements: 2-year college degree with 1+ year of program experience OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years of program experience Pay Structure of Position: Base hourly wage of $13.83 Desired: 2-5 years of relevant work experience Bachelor’s Degree Experience utilizing a customer database Previous nonprofit volunteer or work experience Familiarity with middle and high schools in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties Hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 5 hours per day between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, August - May Occasional requests to extend hours Benefits: Pro-rated paid personal time, sick time, vacation time and holidays Job Type: Part-time, 10 months per year, August – May Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
