Connect to Ubuntu 11.04 from Windows via Remote Desktop Last week we showed you how to use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect from Ubuntu to Windows 7. Today, I will show you how to use the same Remote Desktop Protocol to connect from Windows to Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal. If you ever wanted to connect to Ubuntu via Remote Desktop Connection, then this tutorial will help you do that. There are many ways to connect to Ubuntu from Windows and RDP protocol is just one of the many ways.
Getting started:
To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open Terminal. When Terminal opens,

Next, go to Start –> All Programs –> Accessories –> Remote Desktop Connection from your Windows computer and type the IP address or Hostname of the Ubuntu machine then click ‘Connect’

Go to the System Menu (the power icon in the upper right corner by default), then choose “System Settings” and within the Control Centre pick “Keyboard Shortcuts” (under the Personal section). Scroll down to “Hide all normal windows and set focus to the desktop” and change the Mod4+D to something else (e.g. Ctrl+D).

The Techyv.com article i found is also very educational and very easy to understand, http://www.techyv.com/article/how-use-remote-desktopubuntu-linux I dont want to hog it for my personal use so im sharing too. I am using Windows 7 right now but Im planning on migrating to Ubuntu. Just to widen my perspective.
