REGISTRATION FORM TERMS & CONDITIONS COMPETITION ENTRY 1. The competition is promoted by the Te Vaka O Ru Committee. 2. The Te Vaka O Ru Committee consists of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Cook Islands Police, National Environment Service, Ministry of Health, Cook Islands Tourism Corporation and the Aitutaki Conservation Trust. 3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. 4. Entry for the competition and details of how to enter are set out in the registration form. COMPETITION RULES 5. The rules of the competition and prizes are as follows: i. A completed registration form is required. ii. Endorsement of your traditional leader(s) is required. iii. The community project you nominate on the registration form must allow for public access iv. Winners will be selected by the Te Vaka O Ru committee made up of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Cook Islands Police, National Environment Service, Ministry of Health, the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation and the Aitutaki Conservation Trust. v. The judging period is from October - December 2016. vi. A tally point system will be used for the Akono I te Ao Rangi & Tupuranga Tangata categories with points being awarded for most clean beach areas, least amount of mosquito breeding sites, best reuse of rubbish & recycling methods, water conservation, best kept livestock and lowest crime rates. vii. After each judging the Te Vaka O Ru committee will award prizes to the registered group with the highest tally points that best meets the criteria listed above. viii. For the Peu Maori category the Te Vaka O Ru committee will decide on the winner by majority vote.

COMPETITION PRIZES 6. Prizes will be allocated under the following categories: Akono I te Ao Rangi Funding towards a Community Project to the value of $2,500 - Most clean beach areas - Least amount of mosquito breeding sites - Best reuse of rubbish & recycling methods - Water conservation Tupuranga tangata Funding towards a Community Project to the value of $1,250 - Best kept livestock - Lowest crime rates Peu maori Funding towards a Community Project to the value of $1,250 - Best voted flower gardens & beautification - Best kept public areas e.g. sports fields, community halls etc 7.

The Te Vaka O Ru Committee reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Te Vaka O Ru Committees control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter. The Te Vaka O Ru Committee is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. The Te Vaka O Ru Committees decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition winners will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. The winner(s) agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
