Fundraising Congratulations to Donne Swartz for winning the Shingle Inn voucher last week. Bill Beardmore, from U12 Blue, you were noticed selling lots and lots of tickets last weekend and for this reason, you’ve won the coffee voucher this week. Congratulations! Both vouchers can be collected from the Fundraising Desk this weekend. This week’s raffle prize is 2 more tickets to the Broncos V Raiders game on 9 June as we received another set of tickets. We are doing very well with our tickets so far this season. I’m very impressed and grateful for the support given to RHA for these. Keep up the good work everybody. Chocolate Drive is well underway at the moment and money is due back by Saturday 11 June. Reminder: senior boxes are worth $55 this season, not the usual $50 due to the extra blocks in the pack. We still have spare boxes if anyone would like to take some extra to work and remember you receive a volunteer levy credit for every box you sell and there’s a $50 Rebel Sport gift card up for grabs if you sell the most packs. Monty’s Rewards membership forms have gone out to all junior players and seniors receive theirs this week. This is a fabulous discount rewards card entitling you to receive 5% off your meals and drinks at the bistros belonging to the AHL Group. Participating bistros are at Redland Bay Hotel, Victoria Point Tavern, Capalaba Tavern just to name a few locally. Fill in the form and return to me at the Fundraising Desk and I'll organise your card after checking the form and signing it off for you. Major event We are holding our Inaugural Car Rally Treasure Hunt on Sunday, 12 June and we’d love your support. All families received a copy of the flyer last week. Please mention the Car Rally to everybody you know and perhaps show them the flyer or leave it at work for others to see. All details are on the flyer, but if you have any questions or would like some more information please contact me. We have several prizes for the event including the Major prize for most points accrued, Best Dressed Team, Best Themed Car, RHA team with the most entrants in separate entries and an Early Bird prize for entries received by 8 June. Please share the Facebook event and/or forward the Administrator’s event email on to anybody you think may be interested. It will be a great day out! Team Reports After voting at the fields we now have a team name: “The Blue Lollipops”. A close second was: “Blue Fluffy Unicorns”. Congratulations to our Player of the Week: Rose and our Encouragement award winner: Noah. We are all noticing how much the player’s hockey skills are improving weekly. Helen (Blue Lollipops Manager) U16 Maroon Madness played the White team this week. Whites won 1 0. Player of the week: Riley Whitlock Encouragement award: Cameron West

Last weekend the Blue Bombers came up against a determined Green team. At this time of the season there is bound to be some illness and sure enough the Bombers are experiencing that effect at the moment. Chloe our goal keeper was away and Nick stepped in to do a great job for the team. He responded well to the pressure of being in a new position. The green team were particularly strong in their mid field and defence and this made the bombers work hard as a team to find a way through. Taya must be congratulated for improving her game each week and responding well to challenging situations and being very determined to get to each play. In the end the Bombers came away with a 2 goals to 1 win but the Green team have given the Blue's lots to work on for the next round. Once again it is excellent to observe a group of young people so committed to their training and fitness which makes for good on field competition. Thanks also to our group of under 12 players who are stepping up each week to support the team. Annette U16 Blue

Jerome Saleh - Under 12s - first game, goal keeper , best player….. Under 12 Awards

Umpire news Last weekend, Jackson (JJ) Freeman was selected as a Met East umpire for the U19 Secondary School Girls Championships which were held at the State Hockey Centre. Seven games he umpired and over the course of the 4 days JJ continued to umpire at his usual high standard. For this he was rewarded by being selected as the Qld Umpire to tour New Zealand with the U19 Secondary School mens and women’s teams. He heads to Wellington on the 26th September and will tour the North Island for 2 weeks , congratulations and well done. RHA’s first International umpire, we are so proud. Jackson is currently completing year 12, he coaches the Under 12 Whites and is involved with the officiating committee, so very deserving. Here is a collage of JJ in action.
