Modern Pentathlon is UIPM’s flagship sport and offers the ultimate test of an athlete’s fitness, courage and skill. Combining five traditional disciplines in a one day competition, Modern Pentathlon has been a core sport at the Olympic Games since 1912.

The UIPM organizes an annual World Championship for senior, junior and youth athletes, as well as a World Cup Series that consists of four events culminating in a World Cup Final.

What is Biathle ? ▷ UIPM Biathle is a sub-sport of Modern Pentathlon invented to create opportunities to train Running and Swimming parts of Pentathlon in real race conditions. ▷ It can also be seen as a sport in its own right. It bears close resemblance to aquathlon which also contains Swimming and Running but comes from triathlon sport. It should not be confused with biathlon.
▷ Biathle is an event that involves the following sequence RunSwim-Run. It is a world class sport but not an Olympic one. The legs are raced with continuous transitions like triathlon. The race length is usually 200 m swim and 3.2 km run, which is shorter than aquathlon.
What is UIPM World Tour?
▷ The UIPM World Tour is a fun and simple way to organize event which helps National Federations increase their membership numbers and also to identify talent and recruit the right type of athletes for international events. ▷ It is also a great opportunity to expose thousands of youngsters to UIPM Modern Pentathlon with a scoring system which attempts to balance the performances in different sports. It is a system of competition which allows athletes worldwide to compete against each other by having their national federations send the results to UIPM who in turn compile and maintain the current World Standings.
▷ UIPM World Tour is also knows as ‘World School’ because it includes young athletes.

Category B: Regional or Continental competitions, Qualification Competitions.
▷ Formats: 1. UIPM Biathle: It is continuous and organised outdoors. 2. Winter UIPM Biathle: It is discontinuous and organised indoors and outdoors. ▷ There are 8800+ Biathle athletes across world including both men and women.

UIPM World Tour - India

▷ UIPM wants to promote Pentathlon to untapped reasons for this game like India. Thus, UIPM is about to conduct it’s ‘UIPM World Tour’ at Goa, India. ▷ Beautiful open water beaches and the great weather conditions in the month of December makes Goa a perfect location for conducting World Tour. ▷ Category ‘B’ athletes are going to compete with each other. It will be a awesome exposure to Indian athletes as they will compete with top professional international athletes of the game.
▷ Around 150 international and 150 Indian athletes will be coming down for this big event.
