San Luis Rey Road Race Saturday, May 13, 2017 In memory of Mark Reynolds

2017 SCNCA Masters & Elite Road Race State Championships Part of the SCNCA SoCal Riders Cup Series ENTRIES: Online pre-registration opens _Wednesday, February 14_ at usacycling.org/register/2017-497 and must be completed by _May 11_ 10:59 pm PST. There will be a $10 late fee for on-site registration. Riders under 18 must have a parent/legal guardian “wet” signature on the release form (no electronic signatures). All riders must fill out a SD county release on the day of the event. Entry fee includes $3.75 insurance fee and $0.50 SCNCA surcharges. All riders must present a valid USA Cycling license at registration. Unlicensed riders may enter Men Cat 5, Master Men 35+ 4/5, Master Men 55+, and Women Cat 5 categories by purchasing a $10 one-day USA Cycling license online or at registration. RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Registration at Sullivan Middle School opens 1 hour before each race & closes 15 minutes before start. A category with less than 8 riders at the close of registration may be combined with another field and scored separately. RULES: Race will take place rain or shine. All USA Cycling rules apply. The course is open to traffic. Centerline rule will be enforced! Working with anyone in another race category is not allowed. Feeding will be allowed only in the designated feed zone near the start/finish. Rider-supplied wheel support will be provided for categories in State Championships. Other fields bring your spare tubes. No unauthorized follow vehicles allowed. Must be present to accept awards/prizes. Held under USA Cycling event permit #2017-497. START TIME

Master Men 35+ Cat 1-3, Master Men 45+ Cat 1-3, Master Men 55+ Cat 1-3, Men’s & Women’s Cat 4, Elite Men Pro/1/2 & Women’s Pro, 1-3 are racing for SCNCA Road Race State Championships. COURSE: A rolling hilly 14.7-mile circuit on well-paved roads. Descend from the start down West Lilac, turn left onto Camino del Rey. Continue to the turn-around at the I-15 underpass. Return to W. Lilac and turn right. From there it’s ~3.1 miles back to Sullivan Middle School. The finish is in front of the school just before the second turn-around. The final 2.2 miles climbs ~400 feet. DIRECTIONS: From I-15: Exit at Old Hwy 395 (between Temecula & Escondido) and travel 1 mile north to W. Lilac. Turn left down the hill to Sullivan Middle School. From I-5: Exit at Hwy 76 in Oceanside and travel 15 miles east to Old Hwy 395. Turn right (South) 2 miles & turn right on W. Lilac to Sullivan Middle School.
