PRAYER NOTES:
A New Year's Poem Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809-1892)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" As we begin this new year we confess our need of Your presence and Your guidance as we face the future. Laila Simokat's brother Tom Olsen's tumor has grown and started chemotherapy treatments again. Also, Laila's sister in law, Joyce had a stroke which effected her speech. Help her speech to improve as she receives speech therapy. Be with Laila's other sister in law, Lynn who had surgery for cancer, and is now home recovering. Be with Erna Miller as she prepares for open heart surgery on January 10th. Be with Robyn King as she continues with her dialysis treatments and give her peace and strength as she manages her daily pain. We ask for continued prayer for Michelle Bishop's brother Matthew Hinckle, as his heart valve replace-ment surgery is more urgent. Help him to have the right doctor who understands his unique heart. We also pray for Michelle's mom who is experiencing poor eyesight and now numbness in her hands from a recent stroke. Be with Jackie Severson, Dave Severson's sister in law, as she is losing sight in one eye. She did not qualify for the experimental study. The Tuesday before Christmas she became ill with a mix of issues, and was admitted into the hospital. We pray for complete healing and recovery and that she will be able to return home soon. Give Sharon Passey and Pastor Dave Passey peace and comfort as Sharon battles an aggressive form of cancer. Lon Davidson has been having small seizures which has given him speech loss and use of his right arm / hand function. He was admitted and then released from the hospital just before Christmas. Help Lon to get stronger and show greater improvement at home as he works threw his occupational therapy and his support system at home. Be with Gerri Lake as she continues to be treated for cancer. As we deal with life’s inevitable disappointments and heartaches, help
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky, The flying cloud, the frosty light; The year is dying in the night; Ring out, wild bells, and let him die. Ring out the old, ring in the new, Ring, happy bells, across the snow; The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true. Ring out the grief that saps the mind, For those that here we see no more; Ring out the feud of rich and poor, Ring in redress to all mankind. Ring out a slowly dying cause, And ancient forms of party strife; Ring in the nobler modes of life, With sweeter manners, purer laws. Ring out the want, the care, the sin, The faithless coldness of the times; Ring out, ring out my mournful rimes But ring the fuller minstrel in. Ring out false pride in place and blood, The civic slander and the spite; Ring in the love of truth and right, Ring in the common love of good. Ring out old shapes of foul disease; Ring out the narrowing lust of gold; Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace. Ring in the valiant man and free, The larger heart, the kindlier hand; Ring out the darkness of the land, Ring in the Christ that is to be.
