Getting Started Before you install the Stealth iBot’s software on your PC, please make sure that the following conditions are met: •
You have administrative access to the computer. Without administrative access, you will be unable to run the Admin file on the Stealth iBot USB drive once you've plugged it in.
•
You have disabled any anti-virus software installed on your PC (usually requires administrative access). It is extremely important that you disable any anti-virus software installed on your computer whenever plugging the Stealth iBot USB drive into the PC.
Once your anti-virus is disabled, plug the Stealth iBot USB drive into your computer. A window containing the Admin file should pop up automatically. If it does not, click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of your screen, click on MyComputer (Computer for Windows Vista or 7), and open the removable drive labeled SpyCobra. If you are using Windows Vista or 7, please right-click the Admin file and click the “Run as administrator” option. If you are using an older version of Windows, you can simply double-click the Admin file to run it.
Any time you run the Admin file, even after you have installed the Stealth iBot software on your computer, you will see a legal disclaimer that you will be prompted to accept. Click the “Accept” button in order to proceed to the Admin area.
The first time you run Admin and accept the legal disclaimer, the “Install SpyCobra” button will be the only button available to click. Click the “Install SpyCobra” button to begin the installation process. When the installation is complete, you will see that the other buttons in the Admin area highlighted and the “Install SpyCobra” button grayed out.
Now that you have the Stealth iBot software installed on your computer, you can begin configuring how it captures data by clicking the “Configure” button.
Email
Send captured screenshot to email – Checking this box enables the Stealth iBot to send emails containing screenshots directly to your inbox. There is no minimum or maximum number of screenshots you can have sent to you at a time. Send every captured text to email after period – If you check this box, emails will be sent to your inbox at a regular interval and will contain all captured keylogs. Choose how often, in minutes, emails will be sent in the box to the right. Keylogs can be sent as often as every minute. There is no maximum interval. Send every captured text to email on specific time – This enables you to greatly reduce the number of automated emails containing keylogs you will receive from the Stealth iBot by having one email sent to you per day at a time of your choosing. When choosing the time that you'd like to receive your daily email, please note that you must enter it in 24-hour military time (for example, 1:30pm should be entered as 13:30:00). Upon checking the “Send every captured text to email on specific time” box, the “and on specific date” box will be available and you can choose a specific date as well. Please make sure to enter the date in dd.mm.yyyy format (for example, September 7, 2011 would be entered as 07.09.2011). Email settings If you want to have automated emails sent to you from the Stealth iBot software, it is important that you enter all information in the Email settings section correctly. If you are unsure about your SMTP server information, please contact your email service provider for further details. Once you have entered the proper information into every field in the Email settings section, click the “Test SMTP” button to ensure that your settings are correct. If you do not receive a confirmation email in the inbox of the account whose information you provided within 15 minutes of clicking the “Test SMTP” button, please check your spam folder. If an email is not present in your inbox or your spam
folder, please try re-entering your information and clicking the “Test SMTP” button again.
Phrases
The Phrases section of the configuration screen allows you to add words and phrases that will trigger a screenshot. Type any word or phrase into the field, click the “Add phrase” button to the right of the field, and click the “Save” button to save your changes. You can add as many words and phrases as you'd like. For example, if you added the word “baseball” to the list of phrases, a screenshot will be taken and saved every time someone types the word “baseball” on the PC. If you checked the “Case sensitive” box before adding “baseball” to the list, typing “baseball” would trigger a screenshot but typing “Baseball” would not. You can remove words and phrases by clicking them in the box and clicking the “Remove selected” button.
Screenshots
Enable visual surveillance – Checking the box next to this option allows your Stealth iBot software to capture screenshots. Do not log special keys – Checking the box next to this option will prevent non-character keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, etc.) from showing in keylogs. Leaving this box unchecked is not recommended. Take screenshot after a period of time – If you'd like to set up your software so that it takes screenshots at certain intervals, you can check this box and choose a number of seconds in the field to the right. You can choose to have screenshots automatically captured as often as once every 60 seconds, or as infrequently as once every 600 seconds (10 minutes). Taking screenshots at intervals is a completely optional feature of the Stealth iBot. Image quality – The image quality slider allows you to choose the quality of the screenshots the Stealth iBot software takes. Please be advised that screenshots of higher quality will take up more space on your Stealth iBot USB drive and can increase file transfer time.
Manually Retrieving Data After your Stealth iBot has gathered data, you can use the Stealth iBot USB drive to retrieve it. As always, please disable your anti-virus software before plugging the Stealth iBot USB drive into your computer.
When you're ready to retrieve the data that your software gathered, click the “Move saved data” button. Clicking that button copies all saved keylogs and/or screenshots from your computer to the USB drive and permanently deletes them from the computer. Please be advised that once saved data is moved from the computer to the PC, it is no longer recoverable from the computer at any time. Before viewing your saved data, you must move it to a PC, whether it's the one you're currently using or a different computer. You will not be able to view the saved data directly from the USB drive, since it is encrypted before saving as an extra security measure. To decrypt and view your saved data, click the “Move data to PC” button. You will be prompted to save the data to a specific location on your computer. Once the data has been saved to your computer, please keep in mind that it will no longer be available on your USB drive.
Viewing Data Once your data has been saved to the PC, you can view it by opening the SAVEDATA folder in the location in which you saved it. When you open the SAVEDATA folder, you will see two subfolders labeled KEYS and SCREENS respectively. The KEYS folder will contain all keylogs saved, and the SCREENS folder will contain all screenshots taken since the last time you retrieved data. Please note that all keylogs will be saved as HTM files and will open in your default Internet browser, and screenshots will be saved as JPG files and will open in your default image viewing program.
Recovery Instructions If your anti-virus was enabled when you plugged your Stealth iBot USB drive into your computer, it can erase your Admin file. If this occurs, please follow the recovery instructions below to get your Admin file, and take care to disable your anti-virus every time you plug your Stealth iBot USB drive into a computer in the future. •
Insert the Stealth iBot into a USB port.
•
Open My Computer (or Computer, if you're using Windows Vista or 7) and double click to open the Stealth iBot drive.
•
From the menu bar toward the top of the window, select Tools, click Folder Options.
•
Click the View tab.
•
In the Advanced Settings section, click the “Show hidden files and folders” radio button.
•
Click the Apply button to save your changes, then the OK button to close the window. A zip file should now be visible in the Stealth iBot drive. You will need to download an application such as Winzip or Winrar, both of which are free to download. (Go to www.winzip.com or www.rarlab.com to download either application.)
• Double-click to unzip the Admin.exe file. If you are prompted for a password, please enter the word “cobra” without quotes into the field. •
Double-click the Admin Panel folder.
•
Use Winzip/Winrar to extract the admin.exe file to your preferred location.
•
Open the saved file from the location it was saved in step 10, and copy and paste the admin file onto the Stealth iBot USB drive. The application should be ready to use again.
If you are unable to complete the above instructions or do not see your Admin file after following the above instructions to recover your Admin file, please contact

Frequently Asked Questions Can I install the Stealth iBot software on multiple computers? Yes, you may install the Stealth iBot software to track up to five PCs at a time. Information can only be retrieved manually from one PC at a time, though. This means that if you had the Stealth iBot software installed on two PCs and wanted to retrieve data manually, you would need to retrieve data from the first computer and then move that data to a PC before retrieving data from the second. Is the Stealth iBot compatible with Mac/Linux computers? No, the Stealth iBot is only compatible with all Windows versions from 98 forward. What is a Spy Cobra? I thought I ordered a Stealth iBot! Spy Cobra is the name of the software that the Stealth iBot uses. I plugged my iBot into the computer but the Admin file isn't there. What gives? It's possible that your anti-virus perceived the Admin file as a threat and erased it. We strongly recommend that you disable your anti-virus every time you plug your Stealth iBot USB drive into your computer, even after the software is already installed. If the recovery instructions included on the previous page do not work for you, please contact the programmers at
[email protected] for additional assistance. Why do my keylogs look like a string of gibberish? Keylogs are extremely literal, in that they capture every single key that is typed on the PC, even if the keys turn out to be meaningless. This includes keys that were accidentally typed and keys that were later deleted (for example, a keylog that looks like “basseseballlall” could mean that someone meant to type “baseball” but made a few typos). Keylogs are entirely subject to your own interpretation. Why don't I see any screenshots from [specific website]? I know that my family browses it. Sometimes, screenshots don't capture everything, especially when screenshots are captured at long intervals (for example, every 10 minutes). If a screenshot is taken, and someone browses that website for only seven minutes afterward, you might not see a screenshot of that website. You can set the screenshots to be taken as little as one minute apart to avoid running into this kind of issue.
