YOUR INSPIRATION The 2018 Chicago Flower & Garden Show will be blooming once again at Navy Pier, Wednesday, March 14 - Sunday, March 18. Building off the successes of the 2017 Show, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show has forged new relationships and partnerships for the next chapter in the legacy of Chicago’s iconic harbinger of spring. Reformatted to a 5-day show, an expanded marketplace, expanded design/build partnerships, additional educational offerings and an expanded regional marketing approach are sure to drive new interest and attendance to the show. To complete our spring awakening, we’re looking for one-of-a-kind Chicago florists, event planners, retailers and designers to join us as we create another memorable event. In 2018, AIFD will return to judge the Tablescapes Competition. We will also feature a people’s choice award, whereby attendees of the show will be able to text their vote for their favorite tablescape. Read on to learn more about this unique opportunity. If you’re interested in participating, be sure to submit your entry application before it’s too late. The deadline for submission is October 14, 2017. To celebrate our literary theme, Flowertales: Every Garden Has a Story to Tell, we are inviting you to participate in our 2018 Tablescapes Competition. We ask designers to find inspiration in the written word and interpret the unique role flowers, plants, and gardens play in the stories of our lives and literature.
Design Details: • Spaces consist of two back walls measuring 8 ft tall x 8 ft wide that will
be set in a 90-degree corner and painted a neutral color. Tablescape floor footprints cannot exceed 10 ft x 10 ft. (Upon arrival on March 12th you will have the option to paint or cover your walls. You cannot build up more than 2 feet from the top of the wall.)
• All tables must be set up on Monday, March 12, 1pm-4pm and Tuesday,
March 13, 8am to 2pm in Navy Pier’s Festival Hall. Tablescapes must stay within their assigned footprint.
• All tables need to be maintained to stay fresh for the entire run of
the show. (Maintenance can happen between 8:30 and 9:30 am as well as between 8:00 and 9:00 pm.) All displays must be collected Sunday, March 18 between 6:30 and 9:30 pm.
How to Reserve a Table: With only 12 spaces available, don’t miss your opportunity to show Chicago your talent!
• Complete and submit attached application. • Submit a rendering of your proposed tablescape design. • Submit a written description of your tablescape and purpose. Benefits: • Your company’s logo on the Showguide (distributed at the show), website, and garden board. Reach our 44,000+ customer base.

On-site Evaluation: On-site evaluation will be handled by a pane of judges using the following criteria:

For a full breakdown of the judges’ scoring criteria see attached sheet. Judging will take place on Tuesday, March 13, starting at 2:30 pm. The winner will be notified and their design will be recognized on-site for the duration of the Show.
Wedding EXPO
Thursday, March 15, 2018 5pm to 8pm In addition to the daily events of the Chicago Flower & Garden Show, we will also be hosting a Wedding Expo in partnership with Chicago Style Magazine. Bakers, photographers, clothing designers, event planners and florists will have the opportunity to meet with brides and grooms attending the expo and benefit from personal, faceto-face interaction. As a participant in the Tablescape Competition, you receive complimentary participation in the Wedding Expo.

*Please remember you are responsible for the upkeep of your tablescape. Displays may be watered 1 hour before or up to 1 hour after the show closes. Designers have the opportunity to present and speak for 15-30 minutes about their tablescape. Please initial the boxes representing the dates and times that work for you.
