The operator of the vehicle may complain that the engine turns over normally but is difficult to start or fails to start all together.
Cause:
A possible cause for the above condition is an improperly set idle speed and/or ignition timing.
Correction: The table below identifies the proper idle speed for each model. For each automatic transmission listed the gear selector is in the N (Neutral) position. Before checking the idle speed ensure that the engine oil level is correct. An under or overfilled oil level will adversely affect the idle speed. Application Year 200SX Sentra NX Sentra Altima
Follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedures for making adjustments to the idle and/or timing if required.
