Conditions: The operator of the vehicle may complain that the idler pulley is noisy when the engine is running.  

Cause:

A potential cause for the above condition is the design of the factory installed idler pulley.

   

Correction: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended diagnostic and repair procedures when applicable. The manufacturer has redesigned the idler pulley, brackets and washers to reduce the noise created by the idler pulley. The manufacturer began installing the updated bracket at the VIN noted below. The manufacturer’s part numbers are as follows: Models Affected
