Core exercises & Core stability •  From  90’s  many  studies  try  to  report  different   factors  that  interfere  on  core  stability     •  It’s  accepted  that  core  exercises  have  to  respect   the  func:onal  characteris:cs  of  the  technical   movement  that  we  would  like  to  improve   (Lederman,  2009)

Core exercises •  The  rol  of  transversus  abdominis  is  not  clear,   although  increasing  Intra-­‐abdominal  pressure   induce  lumbar  muscles  acCvaCon.   •  Core  muscles  are  acCvated  before  predicted  limbs   movement  (Hodges  &  Richardson,  1996,  1998;  Hodges,  1999,  2003).   •  Core  exercises  are  not  the  only  responsible  to   reduce  back  pain  (Panjabi  et  al.,  1989,  Panjabi,  1992,  2003,  2006;   Lederman,  2010)
