Tresorit Hacking Challenge If you use Dropbox or another of the bigger names in cloud storage and sync, you hand over control of your content to them. If they get hacked – your stuff is exposed. If the NSA taps their servers – your stuff is exposed. If the service provider makes a mistake and leaves a security hole in their servers – boom, your stuff is exposed. Tresorit is a simple, end-to-end encrypted cloud sync and share service that protects your data from prying eyes. We launched our beta in April, and offered $10 000 to anyone who could get a file from an encrypted tresor in the cloud. Since then, no one managed to claim the prize.

The Challenge We decided to raise the stakes and challenge the best and brightest of US hackers to test our defenses. • On the 11th of December, we will launch a hacking arena – a perfect copy of our live systems • Your task – find vulnerabilities in our system, and if you can – get the flag from an encrypted tresor in the cloud • The contest will include several universities and organizations, and we’re planning a huge race to the top of the leaderboards Our goal is to build an even safer system, if possible – with the help of all your talent and dedication.

The Prize Finding real vulnerabilities in Tresorit’s production technology will award points to the teams. • $25 000 goes to the first one who can hack all of Tresorit’s defenses and capture a flag hidden in an encrypted tresor on our servers • The top scorer on the leaderboards will be the star of an adventure right out of Swordfish (the movie) with tanks, Maseratis and gunfights • The top organization will also get a special prize Any vulnerability you find will be published with your (nick)name. We only ask enough time to fix it before we go public.
