RESULTS
INTRODUCTION • Caregivers are the most community-viable agents of change in providing necessary supports and services for young children at risk for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, research shows that the early intervention system is ill prepared in the specific skills and methods needed to effectively collaborate and coach caregivers (Friedman, Woods, & Salisbury, 2012). • Therefore, more innovative methods for providing support and coaching to early intervention providers (EIPs) is necessary to ensure development of knowledge and skills and translation into practice (Bransford et al., 2000).

DESCRIPTION OF MODEL • Each EIP is coached over the course of a year, working with a different target family per quarter. Coaching of EIPs is conducted inperson quarterly, with all other weekly coaching sessions occurring via technology. • Technology use within the Marcus Infant-Toddler Collaborative Coaching Program alternates weekly between mobile coaching and webbased video review sessions. • Mobile coaching involves the EIP’s use of wearable technology to provide live video feed of the caregiver/child interaction to the Marcus coach via VSee. • Web-based video review involves the use of an online meeting platform, Cisco WebEx, where the Marcus coach and EIP are able to simultaneously review videos, reference coaching documents, and discuss coaching strategies.
