Table of Contents Markerboards

It started with a family in 1914. Catherine Marsh, a widow of eight years, mortgaged the family home that housed her nine children to help her son, Alvin, finance a business venture. Alvin and his brothers, along with some help from a gentleman named John Garber, organized a lumber company—the Marsh Lumber Company, Inc. in Dover, Ohio. By 1920, the company was manufacturing native hardwoods, and the Marsh brothers purchased Garber's interests. Following World War I (in which three of the Marsh siblings served), the company experienced a period of rapid growth and purchased an abandoned lumberyard to manufacture wood products, including cold air registers, flooring, car decking, interior trim, and other machined lumber products.

Through the years, the company added and removed divisions, changed names, and joined with other corporations. In 1958, the Marsh Chalkboard Division was created under Marsh Lumber Company, Inc. In 1995, the name was changed to Marsh Industries, Inc. Now, over 100 years after its founding, Marsh Industries, Inc. is one of the largest manufacturers of visual displayboard products in the United States. With a commitment to meeting and exceeding customers' needs, Marsh continues to improve and expand product offerings to better serve the industry.

Pro-Rite Series 7500 Wood Framed First, prepare the surface of the existing board by thoroughly cleaning it of dirt, dust, or grease. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the board in golf-ball size amounts every 16" in height and every 24" in length.

Position the new board carefully over existing board, and press firmly in the locations of the adhesive.

Install the self-tapping screws (supplied with the board) through the pre-drilled holes in the trim. Clean the board thoroughly before using. See markerboard care and maintenance instructions.
