RIVING THE GOLF IS ALMOST A CULT THING . NO OTHER CAR, FOR SUCH A LONG TIME, HAS EVER BEEN RANKED THE TOP CAR OF THE DREAM LIST OF GERMAN BUYERS - FOR 9 YEARS NOW GOLF HAS OCCUPIED THE FIRST PLACE ON THE LIST OF BEST SELLING CARS IN EUROPE; GOLF HAS ACTUALLY BEEN THE MARKET LEADER IN GERMANY FOR SOME 37 YEARS NOW. BESIDES, IT IS FIRST IN COUNTRIES SUCH AS SWITZERLAND, BELGIUM, LUXEMBOURG, NORWAY AND AUSTRIA. One of the most popular engines is the 1.2 -liter TSI, with direct fuel injection and 105hp (77 kW ), which is extremely economical due to the low fuel consumption standing at 4.9 litres of petrol. The power, especially with early occurring torque of 175Nm available from 1,400 revs / minute, feels greater, at least subjectively, than the one actually offered by the crankshaft. No wonder that many manufacturers of autogas systems provide conversion kits too. One of the really well-matched LPG systems for this model is produced by Zavoli. The engineers of this autogas systems producer from the town of Cesena in northern Italy managed to ‘tame’ the engine, regarded as problematic in terms of running on autogas, like almost no other manufacturer did. On average, 6 litres of LPG and a half liter of petrol flow through the combustion chambers of the engine with direct injection over a 100 kilometres . Due to this you can drive that distance for about 5 Euro. Frugal drivers, who can handle the gas pedal gently, achieve results far below that level.

Stefan Fellmann of Zavoli – Importeur esm Autogastechnik Triptis said: „Low consumption does not take place at the expense of the life of engine components in this case. One of our customers uses Golf TSIs as company cars, and most of his fleet vehicles have already made over 150,000 kilometers, no problem.” Additionally, the adjustment of the autogas control device with the use of possibly a small amount of consumed petrol, which must be admixed, i.a, to cool the sensitive fuel injectors, is not that easy. Zavoli company engineers succeeded in finding an exceptionally good solution that is able to reconcile the need to protect the injections and cost-effective dispensing of petrol. The economical Golf running on gas reacts just as well as its counterpart on petrol. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 192 km/h in 10.2 seconds. These numbers do not differ from those achieved when running on petrol. And the fact that it emits just over 100 grams of CO2/km while running on LPG is noteworthy too. More important, however, is
that in terms of dust emissions, TSI on autogas produces over 90% less of it than the same engine running on petrol. Here is the fact: even if the depreciation of the gas system for 1.2 TSI takes a little longer, due to the still low fuel consumption, then in the case of this engine version running on autogas one can save a considerable sum on money. Besides, you can drive with a clear conscience that you did something good for the environment. This has already been noted by many customers of Zavoli general importer. „Autogas system for the 1.2 liter TSI VW is our bestselling hit among the products sold„ says Stefan Fellmann. Wolfgang Kröger
