Cut the safety strips. Lift up the cardboard box and remove the side and top Styrofoam shock absorbers as well as the plastic bag over the machine. Preparation and mounting of machine on the wall Find the keys and mounting set in the delivery bin. On the back of the machine in attached the “wall support frame”. Remove it by pressing it slightly down. Once the frame is separated from machine you can use it to position the frame on the wall and mark the holes for drilling. Make sure that you level it so that it does not lean to side – this is very important because of whole positioning of machine later on! Two people are necessary for this operation. Drill through the back to ensure the correct position of the holes. Insert the plastic pads into the drilled holes in the concrete wall and mount the metal frame on the wall.
Once the frame is installed on the wall, hang the machine on it slowly – again, two people are necessary for this operation because of the weight of the machine. After placement the machine open the right side and secure - lock the machine with screws from the inside on the metal frame. Then check closing and locking of the machine. First connect the main cable to the machine and secure it with a plate. Than plug in the main cable to the electricity (115 Vac) and the machine will start working.
7.3 Electrical connection The machine has been manufactured for a single phase voltage as shown on the rating plate. Electrical chart:

The machine has to be placed (mounted) in the position that a plug can be reached. Make sure that the chord is long enough to ensure doors to be easily opened and closed. The rating plate specifications correspond to the electrical supply voltage (within a tolerance of approximately 5% from the rated value). The machine has a dedicated circuit that meets all the requirements necessary to support the maximum load. Machine has to be correctly grounded. The electric system must comply with the current safety regulations and electrical codes. Refer to an electrician if there is any doubt about the electrical system. Connect the ground chord between cabinet and the base. Never use extension cords or adapters. The drive motor harnesses are correctly connected to the control board. The machine is closed. The electric system must comply with the current safety regulations and electrical codes. Refer to an electrician if there is any doubt about the electrical system. Never use adapters.
7.4 Installing payment systems • • • • •

All payment systems or devices have to be installed on the front panel. Do not do extra cutting of the openings on the panel, contact the distributor or producer to order a get pre-cut front panel for the standard payment systems. Installation and connection of the payment system to the control board has to be made when the machine is unplugged or door opened and service switch NOT TO BE pulled (activated). POWER must be switched OFF. Serial payment systems (MDB/ICP) have to be set in a program of the machine and plugged into the appropriate standard connector. Parallel payment systems (standard 16 pin, 24V or 10 pin, 12V) have to be set and defined in a program of the machine. The correct values of the channels (8 channels) have to be added to insure the proper functioning of the parallel payment systems. Sometimes the special adapter is needed between the parallel payment device and the machine to comply with the non standard or other protocol of the payment system. The adapter has to be supplied by the producer of the payment system. If a non standard payment system is installed by the manufacturer, the voltage adapter is installed and used in 16 pin socked.
7.5 Installing product delivery trays 7.5.1 Delivery trays Delivery trays are installed the cooled delivery chamber. Each tray has 6 spirals which are separated by fixed barriers. The trays can be pulled out to refill the products by lifting them slightly. To remove the tray it has to be lifted slightly when it is in open position to unlock it and take it out. Each tray has the motor cable which connects each vend motor to the VMC (vending machine controller). Disconnect the motor cables gently. Spirals are mounted on the spiral wheels which positions are adjustable. Each spiral can be turned for single or multiple steps of 45 degrees to set the initial position which is needed for the product to be vended and dropped correctly. 8.5 VMC Data File Management 8.5.1 Storing files from PC to SD card All files which must be stored on SD card, are send as .zip file. Step by step procedure: 1. Create on your PC new empty directory and unzip files to this directory. 2. Take out SD card from the machine and format it or take a new (empty) SD card and format it. 3. Copy all files from directory to SD card. Do not create any directories on SD. 4. Click back to c: 5. Than right click back on e(SD): and press eject. (That is safe mode). The mark should go back to c: 6. Take out the SD card fom the reader and put it in the machine's VMC. Comment on files on SD: • File with format SDXXX.hex is firmware. This firmware is used to program VMC in firmware upgrade process – see description later. There should be just one .hex file on SD. •
CONFIGX.TXT are configuration files. X can be from 0 to 9. This file is used, when configuration is uploaded to VMC. Configuration text file holds all the information about the machine setup. The machine can create the Config file and EXPORT on the SD card up to 10 files (CONFIG0.TXT è CONFIG9.TXT). Only one is in use; the one which have been IMPORTed recently. Example: The machine operator can setup the config file on one machine than EXPORT it to the SD card. This SD card can be used to clone the settings for the other machines in seconds (IMPORT). It saves time and prevents errors. Option: (not recommended due to possible errors) When the file is stored on the SD card the operator can also open the file in text editor on PC. The configuration parameters can be changed and saved under the next available valid file name. This file has to be IMPORTed into the machine to upload the new configuration. Important! Always leave factory setting on SD Card under the name CONFIG0.TXT. Use another file names for different setups. Configuration setting sample:

Standards and tests
11.1 RoHS Compliance StatementFrom the Menues In response to the legislated environmental directives being instituted throughout the world, VM has established a comprehensive program that is intended to promote product compliance with the new laws. At this time, the key environmental directives are from the European Community, with many countries/states either following these directives explicitly or instituting their own variations. The most notable directive is the RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) “DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL” of 27 January 2003; on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The RoHS legislation restricts the use of certain hazardous substances to levels of less than 100-1000 ppm used in electronic products. The RoHS and equivalent directives prohibit use of the following substances in products placed into the market effective July 1, 2006: · Lead · Mercury · Hexavalent Chromium · Cadmium · Polybrominated Biphenyls · Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether · Pentabromodiphenyl ether (PentaBDE) · Octabromodiphenyl ether (OctaBDE) To make finding RoHS compliant parts easier, VM has designated a logo to indicate which machines are compliant.
11.2 CE Conformity The machine is manufactured by CE standards.

11.3 AVA Quality system AVA is to continually improve the quality of vending and to ensure that customers can trade in confidence. The Quality System provides a framework within which specific quality standards can be met, maintained and monitored. The Quality Systems applies to both Operator and Supplier Members of the AVA.
Objectives Originally written in 1996, and re issued in 2003, the quality system, based on ISO 9001:2000, provides a measurable standard enabling Members to provide services that conform to the contractual requirements of their customers and all regulatory authorities. Implementation enables Members to demonstrate, to both existing and potential customers, that they provide services which have set, recognised and controlled standards. The continual monitoring of these standards leads not only to their maintenance but also to the identification of opportunities for improvement. Monitoring is both inhouse and external by the AVA Quality Co-ordinators.
11.4 Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) WEEE CONSUMER NOTICE: The VM product you have purchased is subject to Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and, in jurisdictions adopting that Directive, is marked as being put on the market after August 13, 2005, and should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Please utilize your local WEEE collection facilities in the disposition of this product and otherwise observe all applicable requirements. What is WEEE? WEEE is the term applied to all electrical and electronic equipment (TVs, PCs, white goods and vending machines to name but a few) when it is to be disposed of at the end of its life. WEEE marking of equipment has been effective since 13 August 2005.
There are 10 categories of WEEE – Automatic Dispensers have their own category (number 10). The WEEE regulations are now European Law and should have been implemented in all member states in 2005. Once the legislation is implemented, Producers/Importers and Operators /end users will be required to collect end of life vending machines to recover, recycle and dispose of the material in accordance with the exacting requirements of the directive see www.dti.gov.uk/sustainability/weee. The WEEE directive and UK regulations are detailed and specific and there will be a government body monitoring industry activity. Vending has its own category in the directive and is likely to come under scrutiny. What are the options for complying with the WEEE legislation? There are two options: By individual Company - making its own arrangements OR by a collective scheme - eg: such as c10c. What is c10c? As part of an AVA initiative, a collective company/scheme has been formed by Producers provide a “onestop shop” solution to members to handle the collection, treatment and disposal of end of life machines. This collective company has been is called c10c. c10c has a critical role to play in the planning and implementation of our industry response to the WEEE challenge. Whilst we await Government confirmation of the implementation date, c10c activity is being kept to the absolute minimum required to ensure that we are well placed to respond when needed.

The company is owned and managed by its members and is non-profit making. Its aim is to ensure that members comply with WEEE in the most cost effective way. What are the benefits of c10c? • The c10c scheme will be approved by the Government. • It offers a “hassle free” cost effective solution to complex legislation. • Producers/ Importers/Operators can concentrate on their business instead of WEEE issues. • c10c is non profit making and as such its costs will reflect only those costs necessary to set up and run the business. • c10c will ensure that our Industry has the right environmental credentials at minimum cost. How do I get involved and find out more detail Visit the Dti web site to find out more about the directive or talk to c10c; c10c is open to all Producers and Importers in the Vending Industry.
