Stanton County School District Pep Rallies 2016-2017

The Stanton County School District wants to extend an invitation to all patrons and community members to join the first district pep rally of the school year on Friday, October 14, from 1:00-1:30 p.m. Each month the district will host a pep rally for all students, staff, parents, and patrons. The purpose is to increase school spirit, support the students, clubs, and teams, have some laughs, and a whole lot of fun! Each month will have a different theme for the pep rally with October 14 being Pink Out Day for breast cancer awareness. Any time the theme is not one you want to participate in, just wear your Stanton County t-shirts proudly! All parents and patrons will sit in the home section of the gym with all K-12 students and staff sitting in assigned sections of the wooden bleachers based on a class buddy system for competitions and class yells that will be judged. The judges will be in the star section with rating paddles, similar to Dancing With the Stars! Each month we will “feature” a Board of Education member who could be a star judge, in the relay races, or skit! The board members will sign up for their pep rally month during the October 17 BOE meeting. If you have ideas for fun relay races, please give me a call at 492-6226 or e-mail me at: [email protected]. Several other features of every district pep rally are: the pep band will open and close the all district assembly, cheerleaders and the dance team will lead cheers and a dance, head coaches of the seasonal sports will provide a 2 minute or less speech about his/her team’s successes. Michelle Canny will serve as the MC/Head Cheerleader to ensure the events are quick and the each assembly will last no longer than 30 minutes. Reminder notes will be sent out to the elementary parents, a note will be posted to the district web page, and an Alert Now electronic message will also be sent on the day before each pep rally. Let’s show all the Stanton County students and staff WE BELIEVE in them!
