Assignment 1:Level 2 The Farming Business You are asked to prepare a short presentation for a group of students on a GNVQ Business, Intermediate, programme outlining the main facts and figures which you have collected, both from your work experience placement and from your coursework, on the business aspects of farming. You should include information about employment on farming, the size of the sector, types of business, future trends, how businesses are organised, changes which have occured over recent years. You should make your presentation lively and informative, and you could use visual aids to help you. Key Skills:

Assignment 2:Level 2 Changes on the farm Write a short article suitable for inclusion in your school/college's computer club newsheet on the impact of IT on farming and agriculture. You should include information about how computers are used in stock control and in other aspects of the work, about the types of software used, about the people using IT and about the importance of IT to the industry as a whole. You might also wish to include something on how the use of IT has changed the types of jobs which people are doing. Key Skills:

Assignment 3:Level 3 Quality counts! Compile an information folder illustrating the ways in which quality is assured and controlled within agriculture. You should base your information on your own observations during your placement, from interviews with staff, from materials collected during the placement, in particular, and official publications and directives. Wherever possible, you should include reference to published material. You should provide an introduction outlining why quality plays such an important part in agricultural production. Illustrate the folder wherever possible using appropriate graphics software packages. Key Skills:
