To receive the WSET Level 3 Award Certificate in Wine & Spirits, students must.
Level 1: WSET Award in Wines This one day class provides a basic introduction to the primary wine styles, grape varietals, tasting methods and food pairing techniques. It is ideal for wine enthusiasts, restaurant servers and those who wish to boost wine confidence for hospitality, retail or other front of the house positions in the industry. Dates: September 20 (Registration Deadline by 9/5/14) November 8 (Registration Deadline by 10/24/14) Saturday from 9am-3pm Final Exam will be held from 3-4pm.
Tuition: $210 Level 2: WSET Award in Wine & Spirits This qualification covers the key grape varieties grown and the styles of wine produced around the world, as well as the production of spirits and liqueurs. You will learn the WSET systematic approach to tasting wine that will help you access wines in a structured format. This class is recommended for those in the retail, hospitality or wholesale areas of the wine and spirits industry who are interested in obtaining professional certification, as well as wine enthusiasts wishing to expand their knowledge. Fall Dates: September 30; October 7, 14, 21, 28; November 4, 11. Final exam held on November 11th from 6pm-7pm. (Registration deadline by 9/16/14) Winter Dates: December 2, 9, 16; January 6, 13, 20, 27. Final exam held on January 27th from 6pm-7pm. (Registration deadline by 11/18/14) Spring Dates: March 18, 25; April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. Final exam held on April 29th from 6pm-7pm. (Registration deadline by 3/4/15)
Classes will be held Tuesday or Wednesday nights for six weeks from 6pm-8:30pm. Tuition: $850 Level 3: WSET Advanced Award in Wine & Spirits This course provides a comprehensive look at the world of wines and spirits with an intense focus on the systematic approach to professionally tasting wines. The level 3 course covers the major grapes and wine styles produced around the world, including what influences the style and quality of these wines. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to expand their wine knowledge or to gain confidence and authority to make informed decisions in the wine and spirits trade industry. Students must successfully pass a two-part exam including a written theory and tasting portion to receive the Level 3 Award Certificate. Spring Dates: February 10 – April 21, 2015; No class on March 3, 2015. Classes will be held Tuesday nights for ten weeks, from 6-9pm. Final exam held on April 28, 2015, from 6-9pm. (Registration Deadline by 1/27/15)
