Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Bio Feed Back (BFB) training on psychological and physiological performance on track athletes / long distance runners. This study aimed to examine whether athletic performances improves by reducing running time using HRV BFB in long distance runners. Methods: 24 track athletes were randomly divided into two equal groups-Experimental and Control. The experimental group underwent a 10-week HRV BFB training while control group continued with regular practice. HRV, skin conductance, VO 2 max and sport performance measures were recorded before and after 10-week HRV BFB training. Findings: Data when compared revealed significant inter-group differences with regard to the tested performance variables.
