LSI ENGLISH FOR TEACHING COURSE 2018 Aimed at speakers of other languages, this course equips students with the basic tools required to teach English as a Foreign Language and is also an excellent refresher and development course for established teachers of English. It is also suitable preparation for the Teaching Knowledge Test.

It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by developing the knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary, or adult learners, anywhere in the world. The TKT is not a teaching qualification. TKT modules • Language and Background to Language Learning and Teaching • Lesson Planning and Use of Resources for Language Teaching • Managing the Teaching and Learning Process Cambridge requirements are that the TKT exam will not be held in any centre around the world if there are not 10 examination candidates booked for each exam. Please contact the LSI centre to confirm if it is possible for your student(s) to sit the TKT exam at the end of their course. Any student wishing to prepare for and take the TKT is strongly advised to have at least an intermediate level of English. Students will be required to keep a portfolio. 4 weeks of Standard Plus 5 or 10 Course – 20 lessons per week in the mornings, and 1:1 lessons (one or two per day) for teaching theory and practice In the third week of the course, the student can teach a “mixed internationality” class of students after 15:30 from Monday to Friday. These classes are at Pre-Intermediate level and are observed by the LSI Teacher Test is taken at the end of the course Minimum level for acceptance into TKT prep class is IELTS 4.5
