FADE IN: INT. PSYCHIATRIST’S OFFICE - DAY PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX sits on the COUCH, shivering. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Damn, Doc... it’s freezing in here. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) Sorry, maintenance is working on it. You don’t like the cold? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Not since I was a kid. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) When you lost your parents. PMeltdown glares at the Psychiatrist. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX I didn’t lose them... I know exactly where they are. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) And you still blame Eva for -PMeltdown jumps up, his shivering intensifies. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX We’ve talked about this, Doc. We should’ve buried them. After the crash... it was so cold... we were freezing to death. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) So she pushed you to leave them. PMeltdown turns, walks to the WINDOW, peers out. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX I was only nine. We’d come such a long way together. We were so close... PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) And now? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX I don’t know... they split us up... foster homes... lost track of them.

PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) And what about Eric? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX I told you... he wandered off... died somewhere. They never found him. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) You’re sure? PMeltdown turns toward the Psychiatrist, confused. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Of course I’m sure. No one could’ve survived that storm in the open. Meltdown shivers, walks back to the couch, sits. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) Why did he leave? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Eric? He was always forgetting things. He’d left our food pack back at the crash site... went back... PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) Do you ever dream of seeing him again? What he would be like? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Sometimes. PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) And you’d know him if you saw him? PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Maybe not his face, but he had this mark... on the back of his neck... he got burned during the crash. A big circle with a line coming off one edge. Lost in thought, PMeltdown stares at the floor. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Why’re we talking about him? PSYCHIATRIST (O.S.) So I can better understand how to... treat you.

The Psychiatrist leans forward into frame. PSYCHIATRIST I’d like schedule a special session for next week. I think I know some people who can help. PROFESSOR MELTDOWN/MAX Whatever. Just make sure the damn heat’s fixed. FADE OUT.
