The fall term has begun with the usual and very welcome flurry of activity that accompanies a new academic year. We welcomed all new and returning students and are gratified that our services are being well used. As a means of enhancing Wolfgram’s services, the Faculty Council Library Committee, chaired by Professor Naureen Bhullar, has worked to develop two surveys that will assess the satisfaction of library resources and services. While the surveys are similar, one will be sent to students and the other to faculty. The results of the surveys will be used to see where we are doing well, where we could improve, and in what areas we should be planning for new services. The data will also be used to assist the library as we participate in the campus-wide updating of Widener’s strategic plan. We are looking forward very much to having the surveys issued and completed so that we can continue to make immediate changes and plan for future enhancements in our services—we are urging everyone who receives a survey to take a few minutes to respond. We are very happy to have an active Library Committee and hope that their work will result in appropriate changes to our services and resources.
