T
he Inside Signal Processing E-Newsletter (eNews) is a monthly electronic newsletter that complements the bimonthly IEEE Signal Processing Magazine. Embracing the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s (SPS’s) central theme of better serving our SPS members, the SPS launched eNews in April 2007. This monthly eNews is dedicated to share information of interest to SPS members that is timely, member-centric, relevant, targeted, and compelling. The eNews is available at http://signalprocessingsociety. org/newsletter/, and the highlights of Digital Object Identifier 10.1109/MSP.2012.2235753 Date of publication: 12 February 2013
each eNews issue are announced to SPS members via e-mail. Since its launch, several rounds of redesign efforts have been undertaken to achieve today’s eNews layout. The consistent focus of our eNews team is to enhance the team functionality, strengthen the eNews content coverage, and improve the newsletter’s ability as the SPS gateway. Quite a few new changes have been introduced into eNews during the last two years. For instance, Vítor Nascimento was added in late 2011 as associate editor-at-large representing the Latin America region. Many content links have been modified, e.g., “Recent Patents in Signal Processing Areas” under the “Initiatives and
Trends” section features patents in a specific signal processing field every month; tables for the “Conference News” section were integrated into a one-stop page “Signal Processing Conferences” for easy navigation; links to individual Technical Committees (TCs) (e.g., TC newsletters) were integrated into “TC News”; the “SPS Job Marketplace” page was integrated into “Research Opportunities” for easy access to SPS job opportunities. We hope you enjoy reading eNews, and we sincerely invite you to contribute news and articles.
