Content General formulation of quantum mechanics. Operators and states. The harmonic oscillator, annihilation and creation operators, eigenstates. Quantum mechanics in 3 dimensions, central potential and the radial equation. Bound states and scattering states. Angular momentum, operators and commutators, eigenvalues and eigenstates, spherical harmonics. Addition of angular momenta and Clebsch-Gordan koefficients. Perturbation theory, time independent and time dependent.
Teaching methods Lectures and exercises, 4 hours per week. Language of instruction: Norwegian.
