ABSTRACT The Relationship between Learning Style and Learning Motivation to Students’ Learning Achievement in Doing Local Network Device Installation Learning for Students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta By: Anita Indrawati Student Number. 08501242005 This research aims at knowing the relationship between learning style and learning motivation to students’ learning achievement on doing local network device installation learning for Grade XI students of Computer and Network Engineering Skill Program (TKJ) of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This research was ex-post facto research (correlation) joined with quantitative approach. The research has been done at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The subject of the research was grade XI students of Computer and Networking Engineering Skill Program (TKJ) of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta School academic year of 2010-2011, with total respondents 77 people. The variables in the research were Learning Style (X1), Learning Motivation (X2), and Students’ Learning Achievement on doing local network device installation learning for Grade XI students of Computer and Network Engineering Skill Program (TKJ) of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta (Y). Data collecting technique for learning style and learning motivation variables was using questionnaire method with Likert's scale while for students’ learning achievement variable with documentation method. Data analysis technique was descriptive analysis to calculate mean, median, modus, and standard deviation values. Analysis technique was using Kendall Tau's correlation with significance level 5% to examine the hypotheses. The research result revealed that positive and significant relationship between learning style and students’ learning achievement, with correlation coefficient 0,244, was exist. Besides, there was also positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and students’ learning achievement with correlation coefficient of 0,225. The teacher needed more effort to conduct the right learning style, and student motivation to increase students’ learning achievement.
