PATIENCE

AGES 4-7

FIRST & LAST NAME:

Patience means “waiting without complaining!” We show patience when we wait without whining for our turn on the swing or our turn to pay at the store. We show patience when we read a book or color while waiting at the doctor’s office or when we wait for our parent to help us get a toy off the shelf. We also show patience when we take a deep breath, do something we like to do or distract ourselves when we are traveling on a long trip. Below, choose what you think our friends should do while they are waiting. Circle your answer.

Manny is waiting to pay at the supermarket. What can he do to show patience while he waits? (1) Hum a song or tell himself a story. (2) Run around the people who are waiting to pay. (3) Tell the cashier that you want to be next. Michael is waiting to answer a question in class. What can he do to show patience while he waits? (1) Whistle a tune. (2) Say; “oooh, ooooh, ooooh! I know the answer!!!” (3) Raise his hand and listen to his classmates’ answers. Olivia did not get chosen for the special chorus this year. What can she do while she waits until next year’s try-out? (1) Stomp her feet and say; “that’s not fair!” (2) Practice and ask for help. (3) Plan to try out again but not practice. © 2016 Powerful Words Character Development
