Background Flower drum is an authentic Chinese cuisine restaurant in heart of Colombo. It has a large number of customers based getting services daily basis like dine-in, take-away and delivery so on. Flower drum is very popular among the Internet users because various restaurant finding web sites are maintaining flower drum restaurant information with customer’s reviews such as tasty.lk, yamu.lk, zomato, kapruka.lk so on. Here, some problems are identified. It is not maintaining customers’ information it self. Now a days most of business organizations are maintaining their own customers database for betterment of the organization and give quality services to customers. In that case, flower drum is not able to send special offers and other notifications such as thanking or welcome messages to it’s customer base efficiently. These is an another problem, It does not have a system to get a customer feedback properly and analysis for the business purposes. To solve such those problems, A customer Review System is proposed to the flower drum. The system is a web based. That means the system is hosted in web server. Then users and customers can access though web browsers using a computing device (Laptop, Tab or Smart Phone) Below objectives are listed to achieve

Maintaining a customer database for the flower drum



Getting the customer’s satisfaction efficient and effective manner



Recoding payment information that paid by customers



Sending thanking or welcome email and SMS once the customers used the services from flower drum to maintain customer relationship in high level.



Informing special offers and motivate to visit the place



Generating reports such as loyal customers, daily payments, customer reviews, special offer history so on those are very useful for analyzing and decision making purposes.



Creating echo friendly system with customers and user-friendly interfaces.

Scope Customers Management Through the system, customers’ information are stored in the database. Customer Review Customers are provided electronic application to gather their satisfactions after finishing dine-in or order. Email and SMS Gateway Customers who get services, They are receiving thanking or welcome messages via system and special offer alerts are also sending through the system. Special Offer If there are special offers, those can be stored in the system then time to time those can be sent bulk vice to customers via SMS and email. 4

Administrator Module A simple and user-friendly interface is provided to the internal staff with privileges to access data in database and generating reports.

Hosting and Implementation These two method can be proposed to hosting and implementation. 1. System Hosted in Cloud It means, system is hosted in the Internet. Server space and domain name has been purchased from a service provider with annual subscription. In the restaurant, dedicated server is not placed. This method is highly recommended because administration tasks is easy and also 24/7 service. Examples security, backups, server down and network infrastructure are provided by service provider and anywhere, any place system can be accessed. There is no extra burden to handle the servers by the restaurant it self. By using domain name, the system can be accessed though the Internet. Devices such as Laptops, tabs or smart phones can be used with a web browser. 2. System Hosted in dedicated Server inside the restaurant It is costly, need an administrator to look after the server,the heavy burden on the restaurant side.

If either method 1 or 2 is selected, Email gate way and SMS gateway are needed to purchase though the cloud. Therefor, the suggestion is used the cloud to host entire system.

Maintenance Basic system maintenance can be done though out the life time of system such as system errors, warning, backups etc. If there are additional requirements, those can be done according an agreement.

Monitoring and Evaluation Once the system is hosted in servers, users and customers can be accessed system, Then they can interact with the system. Finally A questionnaire can be used to evaluate the system in both user and customers side.
