Comstor’s FlexPod Logistics Services To ensure your customers FlexPod is delivered in perfect order, in a timely manner, Comstor has created two delivery services specifically for FlexPod. All FlexPod solutions will be delivered on a dedicated transport service from configuration origin to customer address/site regardless of service. If being configured in the FlexPod recommended rack solution, your FlexPod will arrive fully configured, ready to be integrated into your environment. It will be secured on a standard shock pallet with bespoke crate to ensure safe and secure handling of your order while in transit.
Comstor’s FlexPod Logistics Services The two levels of service you can choose from, depending on your requirements are:
White Glove Service Recommended for all deliveries - this service is designed to ensure safe delivery to any location within the final destination. *1 Standard Service Recommended for destinations with unloading facilities - this service is designed to ensure safe delivery to a loading bay/facility only. Air-ride Vehicle Utilises state of the art air-ride vehicles, ranging from vans to 32T with oversized tail lift - all vehicles have internal lock and load systems, designed specifically for the transportation of high value, high care computer hardware. The vehicles are satellite tracked through GPS technology which is monitored at a central control tower to ensure high visibility of movements and product security. This allows your FlexPod’s progress to be proactively monitored, avoiding delays, and resulting in a 99% mean on time delivery. Environmental fuel usage standards are maintained, and by following the ECO5 principles, are CO2 managed, and will be carbon neutral by 2016.
Unloading Service If being delivered to a site without unloading facilities, Comstor can arrange for additional help at the point of unloading. Depending on the results of the pre-delivery site survey/logistics questionnaire, we can also ensure the correct resources; from additional people, to specialist *2 lifting equipment will also be available at the time of delivery .
Crate Disposal Service Once safely delivered and unpacked, Comstor can also arrange for any packaging materials, including crate, pallet etc. to be removed, and ecologically *3 disposed of on your behalf .
What is FlexPod? FlexPod™ is a pre-tested DataCentre solution built on a flexible, scalable, shared infrastructure from Cisco and NetApp. Cisco Unified Computing System servers, Cisco Nexus switches, and NetApp unified storage systems running Data ONTAP. FlexPod components are integrated and standardized to help you eliminate the guesswork and achieve timely, repeatable, consistent deployments. FlexPod has been optimized with a variety of mixed application workloads and design configurations in various environments such as virtual desktop infrastructure and secure multi-tenancy environments.
Pre-Delivery Site Survey An optional pre-delivery site survey is also available. This is designed to help take the guesswork out of the delivery and would supersede the need for the logistics questionnaire: Logistics Questionnaire There are a number of questions we need to be answered, to help us ascertain which service is best suited to your needs, and ensure delivery costs are kept to an absolute minimum: 1. Does the delivery address have access for a 40ft trailer? 2. Does the delivery address have a loading bay? 3. Does the delivery address have a forklift truck? 4. Does the route to the final location have door/lift access with a minimum height of 195cm and minimum width of 127cm?
5. Are there suitable resources at site to assist in the unloading process? 6. What is the final location of the FlexPod in the building? (e.g. datacentre, third floor) 7. Does the final location have any steps or raised/lowered flooring leading to it? 8. Can a drawing/map be provided showing building entry, route and final locations of the FlexPod?

a waiting charge will be incurred if the FlexPod is unable to be unloaded at time of arrival. it has been estimated that unloading will take up to 2 hours. If it is likely to exceed this timing additional charges will apply. this service is also available for the standard service, but additional charges would be incurred. *4 this is quoted as default, but can be opted out of. However, if not taken, you would incur an excess charge of $50k, should accidental damage occur during transit. *2 *3
