Wilson Strategic Communications, a full-service public affairs firm located in Lynnwood, WA, is looking to fill the position of Senior Healthcare Consultant. Responsibilities: This position will have various responsibilities of client and project management across the spectrum of our clients and services. Responsibilities may include:
The position will work closely with all members of the WSC team to manage client accounts and achieve positive results for clients A level of professional interaction with clients in a manner that builds trust Extensive technical and analytical writing on white papers, reports, policy memos, or other health care related content Working closely with clients to navigate the new health care marketplace and regulator y environment
Required qualifications: This position will require a set of diverse skills and the ability to manage multiple types of projects. You will need to serve as a translator between the world of health care and the world of health policy. You’ll need to know why the market is changing and what clients should be doing about it. You should have the experience to know why actions were taken by firms in previous years, but the ability to learn that allows you to understand how the market has changed dramatically. Specifically, you should have a deep understanding of some of the following content areas. -
The Washington HealthPlanFinder and related exchange regulator and policy activity The Office of the Insurance Commissioner and related plan regulatory and policy activity

An understanding of the statewide systemic trends and specific sub-market geographic responses to those statewide trends Innovations in plan-provider contracting models Strategic responses from providers to address the challenges of reform The Health Care Authority, Medicaid, and considerations related to Medicaid procurement

6-10 years of progressively challenging work in the health care sector Strong level of awareness o f the latest trends in the policy and regulatory framework and/or the strategic market responses within that framework 4-year college graduate with a degree in a related field Excellent writing skills with ability to create talking points, speeches, and white paper content which is “on-message”. Project management experience and skills with a high attention to detail. Must be organized and have excellent follow through. Must be a fast learner, be able to handle multiple assignments and enjoy the pressure of a deadline-driven environment. Must have advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
