Steps for Accessing VUT Library Resources

1.
Ensure that you have registered with the VUT Library through Da Vinci website. If not registered, then please fill in the form available on this link: http://www.davinci.ac.za/education/online-resources/.
2.
After you have filled it in (using a computer – NO hand writing) then print, sign and scan it. Once completed send through a scanned copy to my e-mail address:
[email protected]. I will then forward it to the VUT Library. The application process takes between 2-3 days. I will notify you once the application is successful.

If you have already registered with VUT Library, please follow these steps Click on the VUT Library Link: http://www.vut.ac.za/index.php/library Then an image as per below will appear:

Then click on Electronic Databases – as indicated above by a red arrow 4.
A window will appear that indicates the various databases. Select a database you would like to use and then Click on “Remote Database”

Please note that you may not access any Database that does not have the Remote Access link. Once you click on the word “Remote Access”, the window below will appear.

After filling in your Name and Student number, please Click Submit. The introduction page of the Database will appear. In this case, I selected Access Science and the homepage is like this as per below(depending on the Databases selected):
